50.5 Handling

The Corporation may not undertake the loading and unloading, including roping and unroping, of motor vehicles to and from railway wagons and may require such services to be performed by the owners. Where, however, the Corporation elects to perform one or both of these services the cost of loading and/or unloading shall be deemed to be included in the rates prescribed in clause 50.1 irrespective of whether the vehicle is handled by crane, forklift, or driven on and/or off the railway wagon.

50.6 Liability

Motor vehicles shall be received, held, carried, delivered, or otherwise dealt with in accordance with the provision of the Carriage of Goods Act 1979.

50.7 Equipment on motor vehicles

Motor vehicles are deemed to include any equipment recognised as ordinary equipment of a motor vehicle including windscreen wipers, hub caps, and such articles as spare parts, wheels, tyres, accessories, and tools attached to or contained in the motor vehicle received for carriage. When motor vehicles are carried at other than "owner's risk" particulars of such equipment must be set out on the consignment note and such equipment must be locked in the vehicle.

51. CLASS W

51.1 Minimum wagon loads

Minimum loads of goods chargeable at class W shall be as follows:

51.2 Minimum charge

Except where otherwise specified any less quantity than the minimum prescribed will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at class D whichever is cheaper.

51.3 Handling

The Corporation may require all loading to be performed by owners. Where loading or unloading is performed by the Corporation the charges as prescribed in clause 60 shall apply.

51.4 Tallying

The Corporation will not undertake to tally class W goods.

51.5 Covering dense baled wool

If the covering of dense-packed bales of wool, carried at class W rates is performed by the Corporation, a labour charge of $5.89 per tarpaulin shall be made.

52. FRESH FRUIT, FRESH VEGETABLES, FRESH MUSHROOMS, AND NUTS

52.1 Charges for consignments under 250 kg

Fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, fresh mushrooms, and nuts grown and packed in New Zealand (including the Cook Islands or Niue) in consignments not exceeding 250 kilograms in weight shall be charged as follows:
