40.2 Handling, etc.
The Corporation may require all loading, unloading, covering or tallying to be performed by the owners. Where loading, unloading, covering or tallying is performed by the Corporation the following charges shall be made:

  1. CLASS J
    41.1 Minimum wagon loads
    Minimum loads of goods chargeable at class J shall be as follows:
Each Four Wheeled Wagon N.O.S. Each Lb, Lc Wagon Each †Mc, Nc, Nf Wagon Each Kp, Ks or Xp Wagon Each Za, Zp Wagon Each Bogie Wagon N.O.S.
Hides, skins and pelts … 6* 8 10 10* 20* 18*

*Box type wagons will not be supplied for green and unprocessed hides and skins.
†Mc Wagons are not be loaded with bulk commodities.

41.2 Loads under minimum
Except where otherwise specified any less quantity than the minimum prescribed will be charged at such minimum or on actual weight at class D whichever is cheaper.

41.3 Handling
The Corporation may require all loading or unloading to be performed by owners. Where loading or unloading is performed by the Corporation the charges as prescribed in clause 60 shall apply.

41.4 Tallying
The Corporation shall not undertake to tally goods consigned under the foregoing provisions.

  1. TIMBER : CLASS K
    42.1 Minimum wagon loads
    Minimum loads of goods chargeable at class K shall be as follows:
Each MC Each Kc, La, Xc wagon Each Kp, Ks, or Xp wagon Each Lb, Lc, Na, Nc or Nf wagon *Each Bogie Wagon

*Un wagons may be supplied in lieu of Ub, Ur or Us wagons, but orders for Un wagons to convey timber will not be accepted.

42.2 Loads under minimum
Except as otherwise specified below, the charge for any quantity less than the wagon minimum prescribed shall be based on such minimum, or on actual quantity subject to a minimum of 0.25 cubic metres, at the following scale if cheaper:

42.3 Owner's risk
The foregoing rates are at “limited carrier’s risk” and will be reduced by two percent where consignors require that the consignment be carried at “owner’s risk”.

42.4 Small lots
Small lots of timber under 0.25 cubic metres may be charged on actual weight at class C if cheaper than the clause 42.2 charge for timber in small lots.

42.5 Load under minimum on bogie wagon
42.5.1 Check wagon not required: Where a consignment of timber is loaded on a bogie wagon and the quantity is less than the prescribed minimum load for the class of wagon used, the charges shall be based on such minimum or, if cheaper, on the actual quantity of timber at the above scale for small lots plus the charge for one check wagon.
