Land and Easements Taken For Water Supply Purposes in Block XIII, Opaheke Survey District, Franklin County

A PROCLAMATION

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1981, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, declare the land described in the First Schedule hereto, to be taken for water supply purposes and an easement of right to lay and maintain a pipeline with all accessories and to conduct water through the same and to enter for the purpose of inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the said pipeline to be taken over the land firstly and secondly described in the Second Schedule hereto, and an easement of right of way and an easement of right to lay and maintain a pipeline with all accessories and to enter for the purpose of inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the said pipeline to be taken over the land thirdly described in the Second Schedule hereto and an easement of right of way to be taken over the land fourthly described in the Second Schedule hereto, which land and easements shall vest in the Franklin County Council on the 14th day after the date of the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette.

All those pieces of land, situated in Block XIII, Opaheke Survey District, described as follows:

Exempting Maori Freehold Land From Rates

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 8th day of November 1982

Present:
The Right Hon. R. D. Muldoon Presiding in Council

Pursuant to section 149 of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby exempts the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto from the liability for the payment of rates.

All that piece of land situated in Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District, and described as follows:

Reappointing Directors of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 1st day of November 1982

Pursuant to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1964, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby reappoints

Sir Leonard Albert Hadley, J.P., of Wellington as a Director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, to hold office during pleasure for a term of 3 years from the 5th day of November 1982, and

Philip Keith McCliskie, J.P., Esquire, of Richmond, Nelson as a Director of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, to hold office during pleasure for a term of 3 years from the 1st day of December 1982.

Appointing a Deputy to a Member of the Urban Transport Council

Pursuant to the Second Schedule to the Urban Transport Act 1980, the Municipal Association of New Zealand (Inc.) and the New Zealand Counties Association (Inc.) jointly do hereby appoint

Clutha Nantes Mackenzie, o.b.e., farmer of Scargill to be a deputy to Sir Michael Fowler upon the Urban Transport Council.

Appointment of Member to the Ashburton Pest Destruction Board (No. 2929, APDC 1/23/1)

Notice is hereby given by direction of the Minister of Agriculture that, pursuant to section 48 of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint—

Ben Hamilton Hutchinson, farmer of Methven, as a member of the Ashburton Pest Destruction Board vice D. L. Ensor (deceased).

Appointment of High Commissioner for New Zealand in Singapore

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to appoint

Judith Catherine Trotter to be High Commissioner for New Zealand in Singapore under and for the purposes of the Foreign Affairs Act 1943, to hold the said office as on and from the 18th day of November 1982 and ending with the 17th day of November 1985.
