Declaration That State Forest Land be a Reserve for Scenic Purposes and Declaration that the Reserve be Part of the Waioeka Gorge Scenic Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Assistant Director of National Parks and Reserves hereby declares that the State Forest Land, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be a reserve for scenic purposes, subject to the provisions of the said Act, and further, declares the said reserve to form part of the Waioeka Gorge Scenic Reserve.

Revoking Declaration of State Highway and Declaring Public Highway and Motorway to be State Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works and Development, gives notice that the State highway described in the First Schedule hereto is revoked, and that the public highway and motorway described in the Second Schedule hereto is declared to be a State highway, within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL those sections of State Highway No. 16 as described in the Second Schedule of the varying notice published in the Gazette, 26 July 1962, No. 47, page 1195, and as described in the Second Schedule of the notice declaring public highway to be State highway published in the Gazette, 4 February 1981, No. 11, page 229.

SECOND SCHEDULE
PART I—GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF STATE HIGHWAYS—NORTH ISLAND

No. 16 State Highway (Auckland - Wellsford)—Commencing at the Auckland - Kumeu Motorway ramp terminals at the southern side of Wellington Street in Auckland City and proceeding thence to Wellsford via the Auckland - Kumeu Motorway, Helensville, Kaukapakapa and Tauhoa.

PART II—DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS OF STATE HIGHWAYS IN TOWNS—NORTH ISLAND

Auckland—No. 16 State Highway—From the Auckland - Kumeu Motorway ramp terminals at the southern side of Wellington Street and proceeding generally in a westerly direction along the Auckland - Kumeu Motorway to its junction with the Great North Road at Western Springs, along the Great North Road to the junction east of Motions Road, thence along the public highway under Carrington Road and over the Great North Road and including the on and off ramps to and from the Great North Road, to the north-western boundary of the City.

Revoking Declaration of State Highway

PURSUANT to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board acting with the written approval of the Minister of Works and Development, gives notice that the State highway described in the Schedule hereto is revoked.

SCHEDULE
That section of No. 8 State Highway in the Borough of Cromwell from its junction with State Highway No. 6 and Ripponvale Road to its intersection with Gair Avenue, as described in Part II of the Schedule to the notice declaring public highways to be State highways published in the Gazette, 24 March 1960, No. 20, page 384.

Bylaw Prohibiting the Use of Vehicles Exceeding 13 metres in Length on that Portion of No. 73, State Highway (Christchurch—Kumara) Between Arthur’s Pass and Otira

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the National Roads Act 1953 and to all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling it, the National Roads Board hereby makes the following bylaw.

BYLAW

  1. This bylaw may be cited as the National Roads Board Bylaw 1982/3.

  2. This bylaw shall come into force on the day after its publication in the Gazette.

  3. This bylaw shall apply to the summit of Arthur’s Pass to Barrack Creek (near Otira) section of No. 73 State Highway (Christchurch—Kumara).

  4. No person shall drive or take or operate or permit to be driven or taken or operated on the portion of highway above described any vehicle if the vehicle, or its load, or the vehicle and load combined, exceed 13 metres in length; or any combinations of vehicles, the combined length of which inclusive of connections, or their loads, or both exceed 13 metres.

  5. The prohibition imposed under this bylaw shall not apply to any vehicle, which, in the opinion of the District Commissioner of Works in Christchurch, must use the portion of highway above described for the purposes of repairing flood damage or of constructing, repairing or maintaining any part of the highway or any structure associated with it. Any vehicle operating under the authority of this clause of this bylaw shall travel only during any times specified, with such escort, and subject to any other conditions which may be prescribed by the District Commissioner of Works.

  6. Every person who commits an offence against this bylaw is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $100 (one hundred dollars).

  7. National Roads Board Bylaw 1969/5 (Gazette, 1969, page 2644) is revoked.

This bylaw was made by resolution duly passed at a meeting of the National Roads Board held in Wellington on the 20th day of October 1982.

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Maori Land Board hereby gives notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as Maori Land Development Notice Whangarei 1982, No. 22.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is hereby amended by omitting all reference to the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953.
