Sale of Otago Harbour Board Land

I, George Frederick Gair, Minister of Transport, having obtained the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, pursuant to section 143A (3) of the Harbours Act 1950, hereby approve, pursuant to section 143A (1) (a) and section 143C (1) (b) (i) of the said Act, the sale of the land referred to in the First and Second Schedules hereto by the Otago Harbour Board, pursuant to section 143C of the said Act, and I specify that my approval hereunder is effective from the date hereof and is subject to the condition that all proceeds are held in trust for the erection of wharves and quays and the improvement of the Otago Harbour.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land in the Land Registration District of Otago containing Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 on Deposited Plan 953, totalling 4925 square metres and being all that land described in certificate of title 4D/307.

The Traffic (Ohinemuri County) Notice No. 1, 1979, dated the 8th day of May 1979*, issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, is hereby revoked.

Nelson Polytechnic Notice 1976, Amendment No. 2

PURSUANT to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Nelson Polytechnic Notice 1976, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Nelson Polytechnic Notice 1976* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

(2) This notice shall come into force on its date of publication in the Gazette.

2. Clause 3 of the principal notice is hereby amended by deleting paragraph (k) and substituting:

(k) (i) One member who shall be a student of the Nelson Polytechnic and who shall be appointed by the Nelson Polytechnic Students’ Association for a term of office of 1 year.

(ii) The member appointed pursuant to subparagraph (i) of this paragraph shall hold office from the 1st day of June until the 31st day of May in the subsequent year, and if on that date the appointment of a successor has not been notified to the Council, that member shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment is notified.

3. Clause 4 of the principal notice is hereby amended by deleting subclause (2) and substituting:

(2) Except in the case of a casual vacancy, or as is provided in clause 3 (k) (ii) of this notice, every member shall hold office until the 31st day of May in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if on that date the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which the appointment or election is notified.
