Authorisation of Erection and Maintenance of a Non-Conforming Traffic Sign

Pursuant to subclause (6) of regulation 129 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. The erection and maintenance of a non-conforming traffic sign described in the Schedule hereto is hereby authorised upon the terms and subject to the conditions hereinafter appearing.
  2. No person, being the driver or in charge of any vehicle, shall stop, stand, or park the vehicle in any part of a road contrary to the terms of the traffic sign described in the Schedule hereto during the times specified whenever the sign is displayed including Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

SCHEDULE

The traffic signs authorised to be erected by this notice shall comply with the following description:

Name of Sign: Clearway.
Shape and Size: Rectangular 675 mm wide, 450 mm high.
Background Colour: White but with red panel 200 mm high and at least 150 mm wide towards left bottom of sign.
Border: Red reflectorised 15 mm wide.
Legend: "CLEARWAY" Black 75 mm letter height.
"C" White in red panel 150 mm letter height.
"7PM—6AM" Numerals—black 75 mm letter height.
AM and PM—black 50 mm letter height.
"TONIGHT" Black 50 mm letter height.

The Traffic (Gisborne City) Notice No. 1, 1982

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Gisborne City) Notice No. 1, 1982.

The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

The road specified in the Third Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle thereon at any time during the period commencing with the 20th day of December in each year and ending with the Tuesday following Easter each year shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of 50 kilometres an hour fixed by the said section.

So much of the Traffic (Cook County) Notice No. 2, 1971 dated the 13th day of September 1971†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, which relates to a road situated in Cook County at Waikanac Beach and which is now situated in Gisborne City is hereby revoked.

The Traffic (Gisborne City) Notice No. 1, 1973, dated the 16th day of January 1973‡ issued pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27A of the Traffic Regulations 1956 is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Gisborne City:

No. 35 State Highway (Opotiki–Gisborne via Te Araroa): from the western boundary of Gisborne City to a point 200 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Taruheru Road and from Tyndall Road to the south-eastern boundary of Gisborne City.

Awatuni Road: from a point 30 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Lytton Road to the southern boundary of Gisborne City.

Back Ormond Road: from the north-western boundary of Gisborne City to a point 100 metres measured north-westerly, generally, along the said road from Lytton Road.

Centennial Marine Drive: from a point 320 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said road from Stanley Road to the south-western boundary of Gisborne City.

Nelson Road: from the western boundary of Gisborne City to a point 480 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said road from Lytton Road.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Situated within Gisborne City:

No. 35 State Highway (Opotiki–Gisborne via Te Araroa): from Tyndall Road to the south-eastern boundary of Gisborne City.

THIRD SCHEDULE

Situated within Gisborne City:

Centennial Marine Drive: from a point 320 metres measured south-westerly, generally, along the said road from Stanley Road to the south-western boundary of Gisborne City.

The Traffic (Malvern County) Notice No. 2, 1982

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Malvern County) Notice No. 2, 1982.

The road specified in the First Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

The roads specified in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

The Traffic (Malvern County) Notice No. 1, 1975 dated the 11th day of June 1975† issued pursuant to regulation 27 (2) (a) of the Traffic Regulations 1956 is hereby revoked.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Situated within Malvern County at Kirwee: Number 73 State Highway (Christchurch–Kumara): from a point 320 metres measured south-easterly, generally, along the said State Highway from Courtenay Road to a point 320 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State Highway from Courtenay Road.
