Declaring Land to be Crown Land

DAVID BEATTIE, Governor-General
ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 11th day of October 1982

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by Deed of Grant, dated the 9th day of June 1875, the land described in the Schedule hereto, was granted to the superintendent of the Province of Otago under the Public Reserves Acts 1854 and 1862 in trust for the establishment and maintenance of a university in the City of Dunedin in the Province of Otago, and of public schools in different parts of the province and for the more general advancement of education in the said province;

And whereas by section 9 of the Abolition of Provinces Act 1875, the said land was vested in Her Majesty The Queen, in trust for the aforesaid purposes;

And whereas the said land, is not required for the purposes for which it is held;

Now, therefore, pursuant to section 15 (5) of the Education Lands Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land in the Schedule hereto shall, as from the date hereof, be Crown land, subject to the Land Act 1948, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same.

Appointing a Member of the Water Resources Council

DAVID BEATTIE, Governor-General

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint

Robin Paul Taylor, an officer of the Ministry of Transport,

to be a member of the Water Resources Council from and including the date of this appointment.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 6th day of October 1982.

The Member of the Shop Trading Hours Commission Appointed

PURSUANT to subsections (2) and (3) of section 4 of the Shop Trading Hours Act 1977 (as substituted by section 2 of the Shop Trading Hours Amendment Act 1980), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour, has been pleased to appoint

Kevin Joseph Bell, of Wellington, barrister and solicitor

to be the member of the Shop Trading Hours Commission for a term of 3 years commencing on the 15th day of October 1982.

Appointment of the Minister of Internal Affairs to Control and Manage a Reserve and Declaration that the Said Reserve shall be subject to the Provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints the Minister of Internal Affairs to control and manage the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for Government purpose (wildlife management) and further declares that the said reserve shall be subject to the provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—RAGLAN COUNTY

78.6000 hectares, more or less, being Allotment 361, Whangape Parish, situated in Blocks XIV, Maramarua and II Rangiriri Survey Districts. Crown land by Transfer No. S. 326417. S.O. Plan 52074.

Appointment of Transport Licensing Authority

PURSUANT to section 93 of the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby appoints—

Frederick Herman Kennedy Moore

of Balclutha, as Licensing Authority for the Nos. 10 and 11 Transport Districts and the Dunedin Transport District, for the period beginning on 1 February 1983 and ending on 31 January 1988.
