Appointment of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust to Control and Manage a Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Commissioner of Crown Lands hereby appoints the New Zealand Historic Places Trust to control and manage the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for historic purposes.

Definition of the Purpose of a Reserve and Classification of Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Commissioner of Crown Lands hereby defines the purpose for which the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be classified as that of a reserve for historic purposes, and further declares that the said reserve be classified as a reserve for historic purposes, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Declaration That Private Land Shall be Protected Private Land

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Assistant Director of National Parks and Reserves of the Department of Lands and Survey hereby declares that the private land, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be protected private land for scenic purposes, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Prohibition of Access Other Than by Permit to a Scientific Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Assistant Director of National Parks and Reserves of the Department of Lands and Survey hereby prohibits access other than by permit to be issued by the Marlborough Sounds Maritime Park Board to the reserve for scientific purposes, described in the Schedule hereto.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY—TOM SHAND SCIENTIFIC RESERVE

309.3428 hectares, more or less, being Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 4034, situated in Block XV, Orieri Survey District, Section 1, Block XV, Orieri Survey District, and all the area of foreshore of Maud Island lying between low water ordinary spring tides, and mean high water, adjoining Section 1, Block XV, Orieri Survey District. Part nature reserve, pursuant to section 16 (11) (c), Reserves Act 1977, and part reserve for nature purposes by all Gazette notice 95421. S.O. Plan 5575.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Change of the Name of the Herbert Peak Scenic Reserve

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, the Commissioner of Crown Lands hereby declares that the reserve for scenic purposes, described in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Herbert Peak Scenic Reserve, shall hereafter be known as the Mount Herbert Scenic Reserve.
