Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education and the Proprietor of the following primary schools.

St Anne’s School, Raine Street, Wanganui East.
Marcellin Primary School, Totara Street, Wanganui.

The said schools will enter into the State education system in accordance with the provisions of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975 with effect from 1 September 1982. Copies of the integration agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the Department of Education, Head Office, Government Buildings, Lambton Quay, Wellington and at regional offices.

Determination of the Comptroller of Customs, Section 21 Sales Tax Act 1974

I, Patrick John McKone, hereby give notice that, for the purposes of section 21 of the Sales Tax Act 1974, I have determined that the sale value of the goods enumerated below shall be in accordance with section 21 (2) (d) of the Sales Tax Act 1974.

Goods

  1. Motor vehicles, but not including parts of or accessories for motor vehicles.
  2. Electric range hoods.
  3. Electric storage heaters.
  4. Vacuum cleaners, being those type determined under item 7 of the Sales Tax Determination Notice 1980.
  5. Screens for projectors of Tariff item 90.10.021 of the Customs Tariff.
  6. Solid fuel burning stoves and ranges.
  7. Paper and paperboard and articles of paper and paperboard, including stationery, printed to specifications exclusive to the business of the customer to whom the goods are supplied and specifically designed for that customer’s own use and not for resale.
  8. Filing cabinets, racks, sorting boxes, paper trays, paper rests and similar office equipment of any material.

The determination of the Comptroller of Customs, section 21, Sales Tax Act 1974, gazetted on page 2647 on 12 August 1982 is hereby consequently amended by omitting the words:

“7. Motor vehicles”.

Nothing contained in this notice shall limit the application of any other section of Part IV of the Sales Tax Act 1974.

Notice of Amendment to Statistical Notice No. 22—The Customs Tariff of New Zealand

THE above notice, which appeared in the Gazette dated 26 August 1982 and made under the authority of section 7 (2) of the Customs Acts Amendment Act (No. 2) 1977, is amended as follows:

I, Alexander King Ewing, Controller Marine Administration, pursuant to section 7 of the Harbours Act 1950 and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby revoke the appointment of

as Honorary Assistant Harbourmaster for the waters of Turanga Creek in the City of Manukau.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, Stanley James Callahan, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee on 13 August 1982, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Palace Tavern, Rotorua.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (not being Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday and Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

(d) On any Saturday—Opening at 9 o’clock in the morning and closing at 9 o’clock in the evening.

(e) It shall be a condition of this order that food, tea and coffee be provided in the public bar during the period that the premises are open for the sale of liquor.

Post Office Savings Bank Investment Account Interest Notice 1982, No. 2

THE rate of interest applicable to money held in Post Office Savings Bank Investment accounts shall be as set out below. This notice shall come into force on the 9th day of August 1982.

  1. Interest Rates—(1) The maximum rate of interest to be payable for any period of deposit commencing on or after the date of this notice shall be:

(a) For a period of 6 months and each subsequent period of 6 months: 12 percent per annum;

(b) For a period of 12 months and each subsequent period of 12 months: 13 percent per annum;

(c) For a period of 24 months and each subsequent period of 24 months: 13.75 percent per annum;

(d) For a period of 36 months and each subsequent period of 36 months: 13.25 percent per annum;

(2) Rates of interest payable on and conditions applying to money withdrawn where the deposit was made or reinvested after the commencement of this notice shall be:

(a) In respect of money withdrawn at maturity the rate of interest payable shall be that provided in clause 1 (1) (a), (b), (c) or (d) as appropriate to the term of investment.

(b) In respect of money withdrawn before the expiration of the first or any subsequent period of deposit the interest rate shall be:

(i) For any period of less than 30 days: In the first period of deposit: nil; in the second or any subsequent period of deposit: 6 percent per annum;

(ii) For any period of not less than 30 days but less than 6 months: 6 percent per annum;
