Declaring Land to be Crown Land

At the Government House at Wellington this 23rd day of August 1982.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

WHEREAS by deed of grant, dated the 16th day of May 1875, the land described in the Schedule hereto, was granted to the superintendent of the Province of Otago under the Public Reserves Act 1854 and 1862 in trust for the establishment and maintenance of a university in the City of Dunedin in the Province of Otago, and of public schools in different parts of the Province and for the more general advancement of education in the said Province.

And whereas by section 9 of the Abolition of Provinces Act 1875, the said land was vested in Her Majesty the Queen, in trust for the aforesaid purposes

And whereas the said land, is not required for the purposes for which it is held

Now therefore pursuant to section 15 (5) of the Education Lands Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the land in the Schedule hereto shall, as from that date hereof, be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same.

Appointment of the Minister of Internal Affairs to Control and Manage a Reserve and Declaration That the Said Reserve Shall be Subject to the Provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953

14.000 hectares, more or less, being Allotment 1354, Matata Parish, situated in Block III, Awaateatua Survey District. S.O. Plan 52036.

Appointment of the Minister of Internal Affairs to Control and Manage a Reserve and Declaration That the Said Reserve Shall be Subject to the Provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints the Minister of Internal Affairs to control and manage the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for Government purpose (wildlife management) and further declares that the said reserve shall be subject to the provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953.

Appointment of Supervising Officer

I, Alexander King Ewing, Controller, Marine Administration, pursuant to section 7 of the Harbours Act 1950 and in exercise of powers delegated to me, pursuant to sections 8 and 9 of the Ministry of Transport Act 1968, hereby appoint

Bruce William Nelson

to be a supervising officer for the Ministry of Transport, Southern Region, for the Harbours Act 1950 and the Water Recreation Regulations 1979.

Appointing a Member and His Deputy of the Water Resources Council

PURSUANT to sections 7 and 10 of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint—

Gerald Ambrose Long, farmer, of Inglewood, as a member, and

Philip Peter Jensen, farmer, of Tauranga, as Mr Long’s deputy,

to be a member and deputy member of the Water Resources Council from and including the date of this appointment.

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Engineering Associates Act 1961, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints:

William Carter Hall of Wellington, design engineer, as member; and

Noel William Sutton of Lower Hutt, tutor, as Mr Hall’s deputy, on the nomination of the New Zealand Institute of Welding Incorporated

to be a member and deputy member of the Engineering Associates Registration Board for a period of 2 years from the date of this appointment.
