The Marriage (Approval of Organisations) Notice (No. 4)
1981

PURSUANT to the Marriage Act 1955, I, James Kenneth McLay, Minister of Justice, hereby give notice as follows:

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Marriage (Approval of Organisations) Notice (No. 4) 1981.

  2. The organisations specified in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be approved organisations for the purpose of the Marriage Act 1955.

Havelock North Christian Fellowship.

Approval of Qualified Persons for the Purposes of Section 402, Companies Act 1955

PURSUANT to section 402 of the Companies Act 1955, I hereby appoint:

Geoffrey W. Kelleher and John H. Richardson

partners in the firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company, Tower Building, Australia Square, Sydney, New South Wales 2000, and Fellows of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, to be qualified persons for the purposes of that section in respect of the accounts of the American Reinsurance Company.

Notice Under Section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940

PURSUANT to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby authorises the Board of Trustees of the under-mentioned savings banks (being savings banks established under the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948) to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the said Act during the investment period commencing on the 1st day of July 1981 and ending on the 30th day of June 1982:

Auckland Savings Bank;
Taranaki Savings Bank;
Otago Savings Bank; and
Southland Savings Bank.

Notice Under Section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940

PURSUANT to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes as follows:

(a) The forty-second investment period during which investments by way of deposits in investment accounts may be made shall be the period of 1 year commencing on the 1st day of July 1981 and ending on the 30th day of June 1982;

(b) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, the rate of interest to be paid on such investments made during such investment period shall be 3½ percent per annum;

(c) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, moneys invested as aforesaid during such investment period shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1984, provided that where interest is not withdrawn by the investor in accordance with section 8 (2) of the said Act, and is added to and becomes part of the principal moneys of the investor under section 8 (3) of the said Act, the amount of such interest together with any interest thereon shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1983.

The Queen’s High School Board of Governors Notice 1981

PURSUANT to section 54 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice may be cited as the Queen’s High School Board of Governors Notice 1981;
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of February 1982.

  2. There shall be a Board of Governors for Queen’s High School which shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Otago Education Board;
(b) One member elected by the teachers of Queen’s High School;
(c) Five members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;
(d) One member appointed by the Dunedin City Council and the St Kilda Borough Council;
(e) One member appointed by the Council of the University of Otago;
(f) Two members co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Otago Boys’ and Girls’ High Schools Board shall cease to control Queen’s High School and the sole control of that school shall be vested in the Board of Governors constituted by clause 2 of this notice.

Recognised Continuing Education Organisation

PURSUANT to section 97A (1) of the Education Act 1964 (as inserted by section 13 of the Education Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Education declares the continuing education organisation specified in the Schedule hereto, to be a recognised continuing education organisation.

Fiordland College Board of Governors Notice 1981

PURSUANT to regulation 6 of the Education (Forms I to VII Schools) Regulations 1976, and section 51 of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (a) This notice shall be cited as the Fiordland College Board of Governors Notice 1981.
    (b) This notice shall come into force on the 24th day of September 1981.

  2. There shall be a Board of Governors for Fiordland College which shall be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Southland Education Board;
(b) One member elected by the teachers of the school;
(c) Seven members elected by the parents of the pupils at the school;
(d) One member appointed by the Te Anau Community Council;
(e) One member co-opted by the Board of Governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. The Southland Education Board shall cease to control Fiordland College and the sole control of that school shall be vested in the Board of Governors constituted by clause 2 of this notice.
