State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Manganiuiowae Ecological Area—Auckland Conservancy

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976), the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the various areas of land described in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart and dedicated for the purposes of protecting a representative area of non-kauri forest in the Hokianga Ecological District containing a diverse avifauna (including kokako). The area so dedicated shall be known as the Manganiuiowae Ecological Area.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—MANGONUI AND HOKIANGA COUNTY

1759.9342 hectares, more or less, being part Maungataniwha West No. 2 Block, and part Takahue Nos. 1 and 2, Blocks XVI, Takahue Survey District, and Block XIII, Maungataniwha Survey District; and part Takahue Nos. 1 and 2 Blocks (State Forest—Gazette, 1904, page 310), situated in Block XVI, Takahue Survey District, and Block XIII, Maungataniwha Survey District; and part Section 60 (State Forest—Gazette, 1954, page 1386), situated in Block I, Whangape Survey District, and Section 1, Block I, Mangamuka Survey District (State Forest—Gazette, 1954, page 1386) (S.O. 55290), as shown on plan O05/4, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.
