Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee Elections
(No. 2588, Ag. 61338)

PURSUANT to the Second Schedule of the Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1979, notice is hereby given that the roll of those persons qualified to vote for the election of 4 producers’ representatives to the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee will be open for inspection during ordinary office hours at the following places, viz., Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Head Office, Wellington, Nelson and Blenheim; also at the following Post Offices, viz: Motueka, Upper Moutere, Wakefield, Brightwater, Nelson, Tapawera, Tadmor and Blenheim.

The roll will be available for public inspection for a period of 7 days from 28 May 1981.

Nomination forms may be obtained on application to any of the above offices or from the Returning Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Nelson, not later than noon on the 8th day of July 1981.

PURSUANT to the Second Schedule of the Raspberry Marketing Regulations 1979, notice is hereby given that the roll of those persons qualified to vote for the election of 4 producers’ representatives to the North Island Raspberry Marketing Committee will be open for inspection during ordinary office hours at the following places, viz:

Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries: Head Office, Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton, Te Kuiti, Tauranga, Whakatane, Te Awamutu, Matamata, Hastings, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hawera, Stratford, Palmerston North, Levin, Wanganui.

Also at the following Post Offices, viz: Kumcu, Kati Kati, Cambridge, Taupiri, Te Aroha, Te Puke, Ohaupo, Kawerau, Napier, Pahiatua, Martinborough, Greytown, Bulls, Otaki, Ohau.

The roll will be available for public inspection for a period of 7 days, from 28 May 1981.

Insurance Companies Deposits Act 1953—Proposed Release of Deposit

The M.L.C. Fire and General Insurance Co. (N.Z.) Ltd. has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on Class 2 insurance business in New Zealand, and proposes pursuant to section 19 of the above-mentioned Act to withdraw the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.

The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19 (3) of the above-mentioned Act that being satisfied that the liabilities of the above-mentioned company in respect of the class of insurance, designated as Class 2, in the First Schedule of the above-mentioned Act have been provided for, he proposes to release to the above-mentioned company on or after 19 June 1981 the deposit made by it in respect of Class 2 insurance business.

Any objections to the release of the deposit should be lodged with the Public Trustee, Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 12th day of June 1981.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in Terms of Traffic Regulations 1976

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves for the purposes of regulation 31 of the said regulations, motor cycle safety helmets of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

SAFETY helmets complying with New Zealand Standard Specification NZS 1884—Protective Helmets and Peaks for Racing Car Drivers—and bearing the certification mark of the Standards Association of New Zealand.

Exemption of Veteran Motor Vehicles from Braking and Lighting Requirements

NOTICE

PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 90 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby exempts the vehicles specified in the Schedule hereto from the requirements of regulation 68 of the said regulations regarding service brakes, and from the requirements of regulation 58 regarding headlamps and the dipping of lights; provided that the owner is a member of the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand (Incorporated); that the speed of the vehicle is limited to 30 km/h; that the service brake is capable of stopping the vehicle in a distance of 20 m from a speed of 30 km/h or the equivalent braking efficiency for a vehicle which cannot attain this speed; and that the headlamps display beams of light of sufficient power to enable substantial objects and the nature of the road surface at a distance of at least 30 m directly in front of the vehicle to be clearly visible during the hours of darkness under normal driving and atmospheric conditions to a driver of normal vision.

NOTE—The previous notice headed “Exemption of Veteran Cars from Braking and Lighting Requirements” published in the New Zealand Gazette, on 22 March 1962, No. 19, p. 482, is hereby revoked.

SCHEDULE

ALL motor vehicles manufactured before 31 December 1918 described as veteran motor vehicles for the purposes of the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand (Incorporated).

Industrial Relations Act 1973—Proposed Cancellation of Industrial Union

PURSUANT to section 193 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973, it is hereby notified that the registration of the New Zealand Federated Jewellers’, Watchmakers’ and Related Trades Industrial Association of Workers, Registered No. 1831, situated at 8–12 St. Martins Lane, Auckland, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled on the expiration of 6 weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.
