Appointment of the Minister of Internal Affairs to Control and Manage a Reserve and Declaration that the said Reserve shall be Subject to the Provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby appoints the Minister of Internal Affairs to control and manage the reserve, described in the Schedule hereto, subject to the provisions of the said Act, as a reserve for Government purpose (wildlife refuge), and further, declares the said reserve to be subject to the provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953.

National Development Act 1979

NOTICE

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that on 30 April 1981, in accordance with the National Development Act 1979, I referred the application dated 27 March 1981, made by South Pacific Aluminium Limited and the Otago Harbour Board to carry out the works described in the application and accompanying plans including:

(a) a 200 000 tonne per annum nominal capacity aluminium smelter;

(b) a 100 000 tonne per annum nominal capacity continuous strip casting plant;

(c) an anode production plant;

(d) raising the level of the site;

(e) the subdivision of land;

(f) the use of land for the fabrication and storage during construction;

(g) ancillary facilities, buildings and equipment including bulk storage of raw materials, disposal of waste products, fuels, offices, workshops, warehousing, laboratory, compressor stations, medical and recreational facilities, car parking, vehicular access, water treatment and wastewater treatment plants;

(h) reclamation of land;

(i) wharf breakwork and ancillary works;

(j) a barge landing facility;

(k) a turning basin;

(l) a pilot launch jetty;

(m) a pleasure boat launching ramp.
