A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to section 14 of the Wildlife Act 1953, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the warrant published on the 5th day of July 1956* notifying and declaring an area of land to be a wildlife refuge.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 17th day of December 1980.

The Taupo County Council Lake Ariatia Waters Control Order 1980

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 8th day of September 1980
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 8A of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:
ORDER
-
(a) This order may be cited as the Taupo County Council Lake Ariatia Waters Control Order 1980.
(b) This order shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette. -
In this order:
"The Act" means the Harbours Act 1950;
"The Council" means the Taupo County Council;
"Minister" means the Minister of Transport and includes any officer, person or authority acting by or under the direction or authority of the Minister. -
There is hereby granted to the Council for a period of 21 years from the commencement of this order, the control of the waters described in the First Schedule to this order, subject to the provisions of section 8A of the Act, and to the conditions specified in the Second Schedule to this order.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL the waters of Lake Ariatia from the base of the Huka Falls downstream to the Ariatia Dam as shown coloured green on plan M.D. 16016, deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.
SECOND SCHEDULE

Her Majesty or the Governor-General and all officers of the government service acting in the execution of their duties shall, at all times, have free ingress, passage and egress into, through, over, and out of the water described in the First Schedule to this order without payment.

Nothing herein contained shall authorise the Council to do, or cause to be done, anything repugnant to or inconsistent with any law relating to the customs, or with any regulation of the Minister of Customs, or with any provision of the Harbours Act 1950 or its amendments, or any regulation made thereunder that are, or may hereafter be, in force.

Subject to the provisions of section 8A of the Act, the Council for and within the area of waters described in the First Schedule hereto:
(a) May by bylaw do anything which a harbour board may do by bylaw under section 232 of the Act;
(b) May appoint officers and define or limit their powers or duties; and
(c) Shall administer such regulations made pursuant to the Act as are applicable. -
Bylaws made by the Council under the authority of this Order in Council shall not come into force until they have been approved by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.

No authority conferred by this Order in Council shall be exercised by the Council in respect of waters now or hereafter used for hydro-electric installations except with the approval of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy.

The said rights, powers, privileges, control, functions, duties and authorities may at any time be resumed by the Governor-General, without payment of any compensation whatever, on giving to the Council 6 calendar months’ notice in writing. Any such notice shall be sufficient if given by the Minister and delivered at or posted to the last known address of the Council in New Zealand.

Appointment of Honorary Community Officer Under the Maori Community Development Act 1962
PURSUANT to section 5 (1) of the Maori Community Development Act 1962, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby appoints the person named in the Schedule hereto, to be an honorary community officer for a term of 3 years.

Appointment of Maori Wardens Under the Maori Community Development Act 1962
PURSUANT to subsection (1) of section 7 of the Maori Community Development Act 1962, as substituted by section 14 of the Maori Purposes Act 1975, the Minister of Maori Affairs hereby appoints for a term of 3 years, the persons named in the Schedule hereto, to be Maori Wardens for the area of the Ikaroa District Maori Council.
