Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, Eyre County, containing 4.2840 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of Kaiapoi Borough as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1951, page 950, and being the intersection of the old left bank of the Kaiapoi River with a line parallel to and 50.29 metres from the eastern side of Commercial Street, thence southerly, generally, along the production of the last-mentioned line to the northern boundary of part Rural Section 36615, containing 1.2141 hectares, and shown coloured orange on plan S.O. 10286; thence westerly, generally, along the northern and western boundaries of that part of Rural Section 36615, to and along the south-western boundary of a portion of a legal road, containing 2656 square metres, and shown coloured green on plan S.O. 10286, to and along the south-western boundary of part Rural Section 364, containing 607 square metres and shown coloured orange on plan S.O. 10286, to and along another portion of the south-west boundary of the aforesaid legal road to its westernmost corner; thence again westerly, generally, by right lines distance 4.02 metres at 307° 42', 40.15 metres at 301° 40', 40.15 metres at 289° 36', 40.15 metres at 277° 33', 40.15 metres at 265° 29', 40.15 metres at 253° 25', 40.15 metres at 241° 21', 40.15 metres at 229° 18', and 3.02 metres at 217° 14', as more particularly shown on plan S.O. 10286, to the northern side of the legal road abutting the northern boundary of Rural Section 364; thence again westerly, generally, along the last-mentioned boundary to the boundary of the Kaiapoi Borough as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1951, page 950; thence northerly and easterly, generally, along the last-mentioned boundary to the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, Kaiapoi Borough, containing 15.7320 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the northern side of the legal road abutting the northern boundary of Rural Section 364 with the south-eastern boundary of the Kaiapoi Borough as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1951, page 950; thence south-westerly, generally, along the said boundary of the Kaiapoi Borough to the eastern side of the main north railway; thence northerly, generally, along the eastern side of that railway, to and along the south-eastern side of Bowler Street, the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of part Rural Section 364, (certificate of title 21A/105), the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 15576, the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 2 and 3, D.P. 15576, and the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 4, D.P. 15576, to and along the south-eastern boundary of part Rural Section 364 (certificate of title 21A/107) and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the northern side of Raven Quay; thence easterly, generally, along the northern side of Raven Quay and the legal road abutting the northern boundary of Rural Section 364 to the point of commencement.

Authorising Manukau City Council to Reclaim Land At Tararata Creek

PURSUANT to section 175 (3) and subject to sections 176 to 182 of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the City of Manukau to reclaim from the bed of Tararata Creek an area of 1270 square metres, more or less, being part of the bed of Tararata Creek adjoining part Lot 3, D.P. 75315, and part Allotment 49, Manurewa Parish, situated in Block I, Otahuhu Survey District, and being part of the land described in certificate of title, Volume 45B, folio 1410 (North Auckland Land District), as shown on plan M.D. 16052, deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

Member of Waterfront Industry Tribunal Appointed

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Waterfront Industry Act 1976, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Labour, has been pleased to appoint

Sir Leonard Albert Hadley of Wellington,

to be a member of the Waterfront Industry Tribunal for the period from the 1st day of April 1981 to the 7th day of September 1983.

Appointment of Board of Inquiry to Inquire Into and Report on the Fatal Rail Crash that Occurred at Wellington on 24 March 1980

To all to whom these presents shall come, and to:

WALTER MAX WILLIS, of Wellington, a District Court Judge:

WHEREAS, on the 24th day of March 1980, a collision occurred at Wellington between a shunting locomotive and a passenger train (Number 1421), both of which were under the control of the New Zealand Government Railways Department: And whereas, in consequence of that collision, two passengers died, and damage was done to both the shunting locomotive and the passenger train: And whereas it is desirable that inquiry should be made into the cause or causes of the accident:

Now therefore, pursuant to section 68 of the Government Railways Act 1949, I, COLIN CAMPBELL ALEXANDER McLACHLAN, Minister of Railways, hereby appoint you, the said WALTER MAX WILLIS to be a Board of Inquiry to inquire into and report to me upon the cause or causes of the said collision and any other matter or thing which in your opinion is relevant to the circumstances of that collision:

And for the better enabling you to carry these presents into effect you are hereby authorised and empowered to make and conduct any inquiry under these presents at such times and places in New Zealand as you think expedient, with power to adjourn from time to time and place to place as you think fit, and so that these presents shall continue in force and the inquiry may at any time and place be resumed although not regularly adjourned from time to time or from place to place:

And using all due diligence you are required to report to me in writing under your hand not later than the 31st day of July 1981 your findings and opinion on the matters aforesaid together with such recommendations as you think fit to make in respect thereof.
