Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Oamaru Licensing Trust

PURSUANT to section 34B (10) of the Licensing Trust Act 1949, as amended by section 14 of the Licensing Trust Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Oamaru Licensing Trust, on 25 February 1981, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Fort Enfield.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—Opening at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday—Opening at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On any Saturday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

Levy on the Sale of Tobacco Leaf Produced in New Zealand

NOTICE is hereby given, pursuant to section 21 (1) of the Tobacco Growing Industry Act 1974, as amended by section 5 of the Tobacco Growing Industry Amendment Act 1976, that the Minister of Trade and Industry has approved a recommendation of the Tobacco Board that:

The rate of levy payable to the Board by, or on behalf of growers of leaf produced in New Zealand and sold for manufacture after the date of this notice shall be 4.75 cents per kilogram.

Kapuni-Wellington Natural Gas Pipeline Duplication—Waikanae Loop

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to the provisions of the Petroleum Act 1937, the Natural Gas Corporation of New Zealand Limited has applied to the Minister of Energy for a pipeline authorisation to construct the above pipeline for the conveyance of natural gas. The pipeline will pass through various properties along the route which follows the existing Kapuni-Wellington pipeline and is known to the property owners concerned.

The route is also shown on plans accompanying the application, copies of which are available from the Pipeline Project Office, Ministry of Works and Development, P.O. Box 12184, Wellington North.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

PURSUANT to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that the following school has entered into the State education system in accordance with the provisions of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, with effect from 2 March 1981.

St. Patrick’s Primary School, Dryfe Street, Nightcaps.

A copy of the integration agreement is available for inspection at the Department of Education, Head Office, Government Building, Wellington.

Notice to Make Returns of Land Under the Land Tax Act 1976

PURSUANT to the Land Tax Act 1976, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. A return of land held as at noon on 31 March 1981 is required from every person and company, whether a taxpayer or not, being the owner of land in New Zealand within the meaning of the Land Tax Act 1976, if the total land value as at noon 31 March 1981 exceeded $175,000 and the land is not of the classes specified in paragraph (3) below.

  2. Land Tax is dealt with by the Masterton office of the department, and returns may be sent there or to any district office of the Inland Revenue Department, not later than 7 May 1981.

  3. Returns of land are not required for classes of land used solely or principally for the purposes of a business of:

(a) Animal husbandry (including poultry-keeping, and the breeding of horses); or

(b) Growing fruit, vegetables, or other crop-producing plants; or

(c) Horticulture; or

(d) Viticulture.

Provided that the exemption in this paragraph shall not extend to land used for the purposes of a racecourse, within the meaning of the Racing Act 1974, or to land used solely or principally for the purpose of forestry or silviculture.

  1. Return forms are available at all district offices of the Inland Revenue Department.

  2. Any person or company failing to furnish a return within the prescribed time is liable to a fine not exceeding $500.
