SCHEDULE
FARMERS’ MUTUAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATION
AMENDMENTS TO SPECIAL RULES
(Adopted by Ordinary Resolution on 18 September 1980)
- By deleting Rule 1, and substituting therefor:
“WARDS
“(1) The directors of the association shall be elected on the basis that each director represents a particular Region or Ward within New Zealand. Directors shall be elected not by general meetings of the association but by Regional Meetings as is hereinafter mentioned.
“(2) For the purpose of electing the Board of Directors of the association (hereinafter called “the Board”), New Zealand shall be divided into twelve (12) separate Regions or Wards designated as follows and each Ward shall have the following number of directors representing it:

“(3) The extent and boundaries of each Ward shall be as set out from time to time in a map prepared for that purpose and approved by the directors of the association.”
- By deleting from Rule 2 subrule (1), and substituting therefor:
“DIRECTORS
“2. (1) The association in General Meeting has no right to elect or appoint directors. All persons who are to be elected as directors of the association shall be so elected at a Regional Meeting of a Ward as representatives of that Ward and any person elected at a Regional Meeting as a director shall automatically become a director of the association at the next following Annual General Meeting of the association on the retirement of his predecessor in office.”

By deleting from Rule 2 (2) the words “As from the Appointed Day.”

By adding to Rule 2 (7) the following:
“Provided further that where—
“(a) An existing Ward is subdivided into a number of separate Wards; and
“(b) The number of new Wards equals the number of directors representing the existing Ward; and
“(c) The directors then in office in respect of the existing Ward may represent the new Wards without the requirements as to eligibility contained in Rule 2 (2) (c) being infringed,—
the Board may determine that each of those directors shall be deemed, as from the date on which the new Wards come into being, to have been elected to represent one of the new Wards and, in that case, each such director shall, notwithstanding the change in the basis on which he holds office, be deemed for the purpose of determining the time at which any such director or any other director is to retire, to have continued in office as a director without interruption.”

Directing the Sale of Land in the City of Whangarei

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the purpose for which it was acquired.

ALL that piece of land containing 3638 square metres, situated in the City of Whangarei, and being part Lot 1, D.P. 40374. Formerly balance certificate of title No. 4A/1251, after excluding thereout the areas marked “A” and “B” shown on plan S.O. 52292, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland.

ALL that piece of land containing 3891 square metres, situated in Block XIII, Cloudy Bay Survey District, Marlborough County, being part Section 163, Wairau Registration District; as shown on plan S.O. 5601, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Blenheim, and thereon marked “A”.

Appointing Members and their Deputies to the Engineering Associates Registration Board
PURSUANT to section 3 of the Engineering Associates Act 1961, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints:
William Peebles Hall of Wellington, retired, as member, and
Cliff Somerville Harnett of Auckland, as Mr Hall’s deputy, on the nomination of the New Zealand Institute of Marine and Power Engineers (Incorporated), and
Eric Hailstone of Wellington, engineer, and
John David Campbell of Wellington, engineering associate, as Mr Hailstone’s deputy, on the nomination of the New Zealand Hospital Engineers Association (Incorporated),
to be members and deputy members of the Engineering Associates Registration Board for a period of 2 years from the 10th day of March 1981.
