made after consultation with the unions, associations, and organisations referred to in section 5 of that Act, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
Title—This order may be cited as the New Zealand Crippled Children Society (Incorporated), South Canterbury Branch Order 1981.

Exemption—The New Zealand Crippled Children Society (Incorporated), South Canterbury Branch, an organisation approved by the Minister of Labour under section 3 of the Disabled Persons Employment Promotion Act 1960, is hereby granted exemption, in respect of its sheltered workshop at 22 North Street, Timaru, from—
(a) All the provisions of every award and agreement that would otherwise apply to persons employed in that workshop; and
(b) The Annual Holidays Act 1944, the Minimum Wage Act 1945, and section 34 of the Factories Act 1946.

The Building Industry Technician Training Council Order 1969, Amendment No. 1

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to section 5 (1) (a) of the Technicians Training Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- (1) This order may be cited as the Building Industry Technician Training Council Order 1969, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Building Industry Technician Training Council Order 1969* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.
- The Schedule to the principal order is hereby amended by adding to paragraph A.7.4 the following proviso:
“Provided that where the building cadet has before entering into the contract attained the age of 20 years, the form shall apply with all necessary modifications including, in particular, the omission of—
“(a) The reference to the cadet being a minor; and
“(b) All references to a parent or guardian; and
“(c) All covenants by or with a guardian.”
- The Schedule to the principal order is hereby further amended by revoking clause A.12, and substituting the following clause:
“A.12 Certificate of Completion
“A.12.1 Upon the termination of the contract for any reason, including its due completion, the employer shall send to the Council details of the cadet’s service.
“A.12.2 Upon receipt of the details, the Council shall issue a Certificate of Completion.
“A.12.3 The forms of Certificates of Completion may differ according to the circumstances under which the contract is terminated.”

The Waihemo County Council Validation of Instalment Rating Order 1981

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL
WHEREAS the Waihemo County Council on the 15th day of December 1980 resolved to make a special order, pursuant to section 86A of the Rating Act 1967, adopting the instalment system of rating with effect from the 1st day of April 1981: And whereas section 86a (4) of the Rating Act 1967 required that resolution to be confirmed at least 2 months before the 1st day of April 1981 if the special order were to come into force on that date: And whereas that Council confirmed that resolution on the 16th day of February 1981 and thus omitted to confirm it at least 2 months before the 1st day of April 1981: And whereas that Council introduced the instalment system of rating with effect from the 1st day of April 1981 as if that resolution had been confirmed at least 2 months before the 1st day of April 1981: Now, therefore, pursuant to section 170 of the Rating Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
- Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Waihemo County Council Validation of Instalment Rating Order 1981.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.
- Validation—The special order by which the Waihemo County Council adopted the instalment system of rating with effect from the 1st day of April 1981, which order was made by a resolution passed by that Council on the 15th day of December 1980 and confirmed by that Council on the 16th day of February 1981, shall, notwithstanding that the confirmation of that resolution took place less than 2 months before the 1st day of April 1981—
(a) Be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April 1981; and
(b) Be deemed, while it continues in force, to constitute, and to have always constituted, a valid authority for the operation by the Waihemo County Council of the instalment system of rating.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency, the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
The appointment of Commander D. W. Palmer is extended to 15 March 1994.
Lieutenant Commander Gary Norton Kendall is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 2 October 1983, with effect from 3 October 1981.
Lieutenant Commander Richard Donald McBurney, M.B.E., is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 2 September 1981.
Lieutenant Commander G. D. Kingdom: with reference to the notice published in the Gazette 3 September 1981, No. 102, page 2425, for “G. D. Kingdom” substitute “G. D. Kingdom”.
Lieutenant (acting Lieutenant Commander) P. T. Murphy to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 30 June 1980.
The following Lieutenants to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 28 April 1981:

Kenneth Eric Brierley, M.B.E., B.SC., (R.N. Rtd.) is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 23 August 1972, and effect from 16 October 1981.
Lieutenant John Edward Connell is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 5 September 1983, with effect from 6 September 1981.
Lieutenant G. M. Turner to be acting Lieutenant Commander, with effect from 31 August 1981, and temp. Lieutenant Commander, with effect from 4 September 1981.
Lieutenant Brian Frederick Bradfield is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 25 May 1981.
Lieutenant Gregory Ernest Everingham, B.A. (HONS.), is placed on the Emergency List of the RNZN until 10 September 1985, with effect from 11 September 1981.
The appointment of Lieutenant P. F. K. Usher is confirmed, with effect from 18 April 1980.
