Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations,
and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Army

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excel-
lency the Governor-General has approved the following
appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations,
and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army.

REGULAR FORCE
ROYAL REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY

Captain (temp. Major) R. G. Stephens to be Major, with
seniority from 1 August 1981 and effect from 10 August
1981.

Captain (temp. Major) J. S. Heard to be Major, with
seniority from 20 December 1980 and effect from 6 August
1981.

Captain and Quartermaster Roger Newth is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, General List, in his present rank,
with effect from 26 August 1981.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ENGINEERS

Lieutenant (temp. Captain) Russell David Rogers is posted
to the Retired List in the rank of Captain, with effect from
19 August 1981.

Lieutenant Maryann Mangu is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, General List, in her present rank, with effect
from 29 August 1981.

ROYAL N.Z. INFANTRY REGIMENT

Major M. F. Dodson, M.C., to be temp. Lieutenant Colonel,
with effect from 1 August 1981.

Captain Donald Ian MacLeod, B.A., is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, General List, in his present rank, with
effect from 1 August 1981.

2nd Lieutenant J. C. Tinsley to be Lieutenant, with seniority
and effect from 20 August 1981.

Supernumerary List

The engagement of Major I. T. A. Goodman is extended
to 3 January 1983.

ROYAL N.Z. CORPS OF TRANSPORT

Lieutenant D. J. Bulmer to be temp. Captain, with effect
from 1 September 1981.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY MEDICAL CORPS

The engagement of Major B. J. Bowen is extended to 5
October 1985.

Captain J. R. Gardner is re-engaged until 18 December
1986.

The engagement of Lieutenant R. J. Stacy, B.SC., is extended
to 7 December 1981.

THE CORPS OF ROYAL N.Z. ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL
ENGINEERS

Captain (temp. Major) D. R. Abbott to be Major, with
seniority and effect from 22 August 1981.

Captain (temp. Major and Quartermaster) R. S. Bernas-
coni is transferred to the Supernumerary List with effect from
16 August 1981 and his engagement is extended to 31 January
1982.

The engagement of Lieutenant and Quartermaster A. E.
Stannard is extended to 1 October 1985.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster R. L. Sturley to be temp.
Captain and Quartermaster, with effect from 10 August 1981.

ROYAL N.Z. PROVOST CORPS

Colonel Commandant

The appointment of Brigadier A. H. Sutton, C.B.E., M.A.
(HONS.), Retired List, as Colonel Commandant of the RNZ
Pro., is extended for a period of three years with effect
from 1 September 1981.

Supernumerary List

Captain and Quartermaster John Robert Symes is posted to
the Retired List with effect from 1 September 1981.

ROYAL N.Z. ARMY EDUCATION CORPS

Captain M. A. Thompson, B.A., is re-engaged until 10
January 1999.

Lieutenant and Quartermaster F. I. Levien to be temp.
Captain and Quartermaster, with effect from 14 August 1981.

ROYAL N.Z. NURSING CORPS

Captain Valerie Olive Sirett is transferred to the Reserve
of Officers, General List, in her present rank, with effect from
31 August 1981.

Captain Mervylee Anne MacLeod, DIP.N., is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, General List, in her present rank, with
effect from 1 August 1981.
