(m) One member who shall represent the students of the Gisborne and East Coast Regional Community College and who shall be elected to a term of office of 1 calendar year before the end of the preceding calendar year by students of the College and who shall also be a student of the College and whose term of office shall run from 1 January to 31 December in each year;
(n) Not more than 4 members co-opted by the Council itself, if and when it thinks fit, in order to ensure balanced representation from the East Coast region as a whole.
- Tenure of office—(1) Subject to the provisions of this clause and clause 4 (k) and (m) of this notice, the members of the Council shall hold office for a term of 3 years but may from time to time be reappointed or re-elected.
(2) Every co-opted member of the Council shall be appointed for such term not exceeding 3 years as the Council thinks fit.
(3) Except in the case of a casual vacancy or as otherwise provided in this notice, every member, except the member elected pursuant to clause 4 (m) of this notice, shall hold office until the 31st day of October in the third year after the year of his appointment or election, and if, on the 31st day of October, the appointment or election of his successor has not been notified to the Council, he shall continue to hold office until the date on which that appointment or election is notified.
(4) In the case of the first member elected pursuant to clause 4 (m), that member shall take office immediately upon election and that term of office shall continue until 31st day of December 1982.
(5) If any member—
(a) dies; or
(b) resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Council or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof; or
(c) is absent without leave from the meetings of the Council for 3 consecutive months; or
(d) while holding office becomes ineligible to remain a member by reason of disability, insolvency, neglect of duty, or misconduct;—
the casual vacancy so created shall be filled, as soon as practicable thereafter, by the appointment or election of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed or elected, and the member appointed or elected to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
(6) The powers of the Council shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.
- Revocation—The Gisborne Boys’ High School Senior Technical Division Notice 1979* is hereby revoked.

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977, the Minister of Lands hereby declares that the State Forest land, described in the Schedule hereto, shall be a reserve for scenic purposes, subject to the provisions of the said Act, and further declares the said reserve to form part of the William King Scenic Reserve.

PURSUANT to regulation 17 of the Import Control Regulations 1973*, the Minister of Trade and Industry hereby gives notice as follows:
-
(a) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 16) 1981.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of November 1981. -
Goods of the classes specified and for the purposes of the Customs Tariff falling within the Tariff items in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.
