Boundaries of Eyre County and Kaiapoi Borough Defined
PURSUANT to section 48 of the Local Government Act 1974, the Secretary for Local Government hereby defines, as set out in the Schedules hereto, the boundaries of the County of Eyre and the Borough of Kaiapoi, those boundaries having been altered by Order in Council made on 30 March 1981 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 37, 9 April 1981, page 885
FIRST SCHEDULE
KAIPOI BOROUGH
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing 433.9320 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at a point near the north-western corner of the borough, in the middle of Revells Road and in line with the middle of Cam Road and proceeding easterly to and along the middle of Cam Road and its production across the Cam River to its left bank; thence generally north-easterly along the left bank of that river to and easterly along the southern boundary of Section 201A Maori Reserve 873, Kaiapoi, and its production to the middle of Williams Street; thence southerly along the southern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 19186 and northerly along the eastern boundary of Section 200 Maori Reserve 873, Kaiapoi, to and along the southern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 18186; thence easterly to and along that boundary, to and southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lots 1 and 2, D.P. 19186 and continuing southerly along the eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 3, D.P. 1257, Lot 2, D.P. 25609, Lot 5, D.P. 1257, Lot 2, D.P. 27708 and Lots 8 and 9, D.P. 1257; thence westerly along the southern boundary of Lot 9, D.P. 1257, to and southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of the land in certificate of title 177/100, to a point 50.29 metres from the eastern side of Williams Street, thence southerly along a line parallel to and 50.29 metres from the eastern side of Williams Street to a point on the northern boundary of Lot 2, D.P. 18101; thence easterly and southerly along the northern and eastern boundaries, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Beach Road; thence easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the eastern side of Feldwicks Drain (through R.S. 320); thence southerly to and along the eastern side of that drain to the intersection of Cass and Commercial Streets; thence easterly along a continuation of the northern side of Cass Street for a distance of 50.29 metres; thence generally southerly by a line parallel to and 50.29 metres from the eastern side of Commercial Street, and its production, to the northern boundary of part rural Section 36615, containing 1.2141 hectares, and shown coloured orange on plan S.O. Plan 10286, to and along the south-western boundary of part rural Section 364, containing 607 square metres and shown coloured orange on S.O. Plan 10286, to and along another portion of the south-western boundary of the aforesaid legal road to its westernmost corner; thence again generally westerly by right lines distance 4.02 metres as shown on S.O. Plan 10286, to the northern side of the legal road abutting the northern boundary of rural Section 364; thence again generally westerly along the last-mentioned roadside and the northern roadside of Raven Quay to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of part rural Section 364 (certificate of title 21A/107); thence generally south-westerly to and along that boundary, the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Lot 4, D.P. 15576, the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 15576 to the south-eastern boundary of part rural Section 364 (certificate of title 21A/105); thence generally south-westerly along the last-mentioned boundary and the south-western boundary of that part rural Section to and along the south-eastern side of Bowler Street to the eastern side of the Main North Railway; thence generally southerly along the eastern side of that railway to a point in line with the southern side of that part of rural Section 468, containing 1.4652 hectares, and marked F on S.O. Plan 13407; thence southerly to and along the last-mentioned boundary and its production to the north-eastern corner of Lot 4, D.P. 40787 and continuing southerly along the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned Lot 4 and its production to the middle of the Kaikainui Stream; thence generally south-easterly and south-westerly down the middle of the Kaikainui Stream to and up the middle of the Courtenay Stream to the eastern side of the Main North Railway; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of that Railway to and generally westerly along the middle of the Kaikainui Stream to the eastern side of the Christchurch Northern Motorway; thence generally northerly along the eastern side of that motorway, to and along the southern, western, northern and north-eastern boundaries of that part of Lot 2, D.P. 1575, containing 2.3562 hectares, and shown coloured orange on S.O. Plan 11054, to and along the north-eastern boundary of another portion of Lot 2, D.P. 1575, containing 392 square metres, and shown coloured orange on S.O. Plan 11054 to the north-western side of Coups Road; thence generally north-easterly along the north-western side of Coups Road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of part Lot 1, D.P. 22775; thence south-easterly along the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle of Coups Road; thence north-easterly along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Lot 18, D.P. 18361; thence south-easterly to the south-western corner of the said Lot 18; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 18, 13, 7 and 6, D.P. 18361, Lots 2 and 1, D.P. 27423, Lots 17, 16, 13 and 12, D.P. 19198, Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 25610 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across Chapman Place to the south-western corner of Lot 10, D.P. 25610; thence again north-easterly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 10 and 9, D.P. 25610, Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 19198, Lots 3 and 2, D.P. 40689, Lot 2, D.P. 22917, Lot 2, D.P. 21712, Lot 6, D.P. 17388 and its production across Cressy Avenue to the south-western corner of Lot 1, D.P. 17388; thence again northerly along the north-western boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. 17388 and part Lot 1, D.P. 14016 and its production to the northern side of Fuller Street; thence generally westerly along the southern side of the Main North Railway and along a right line to and along the south-western side of another portion of Lot 1, D.P. 16837; thence generally north-westerly up the middle of the Kaiapoi River to the middle line of Revells Road; thence generally northerly along the middle of the Kaiapoi River to a point in line with the original middle line of Revells Road; thence generally easterly along the middle line of Revells Road to the northern bank of the Old Bed of the Kaiapoi River; thence generally south-easterly along that boundary and its production to the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned lot to the south-western side of Raven Street; thence north-easterly along the original middle line of Revells Road; thence northerly along that original middle line to the point of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
EYRE COUNTY
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District containing 45775.1440 hectares, more or less, bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of rural Section 40810 near the intersection of North Eyre, Oxford-Rangiora and Bennetts Roads in Block VI, Mairaki Survey District; thence proceeding easterly along the northern boundary of rural Section 40810 and continuing easterly along the southern boundary of part rural Section 4643 adjoining and its production to and south-easterly along the middle of North Eyre Road and Tram Road, to and easterly along the middle of Woodfields Road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 17, D.P. 33937, and northerly along that boundary to and easterly along the northern side of Springbank Road to Garterys Road, and the projection of that northern side of Springbank Road to a point in line with the western boundary of Lot 10, D.P. 3396; thence northerly along the production of the western boundary of that Lot 10 to the middle of the Oxford-Rangiora Road (number 72 State highway); thence south-easterly along the middle of Oxford-Rangiora Road (number 72 State highway), Boundary Road and the original middle of Main Drain Road and its production to the middle of the Kaiapoi River (formerly the North Branch of the Waimakariri River); thence generally easterly along the middle of that river, to and generally south-easterly along the western and southern boundaries of the Kaiapoi Borough as described in the First Schedule hereto, to the middle of the Kaiapoi River, to and south-westerly along the middle of Stewarts Gully, to and along the middle of the old dry bed of the South Branch of the Waimakariri River, to and along the middle of the Waimakariri River to a point in
