Notice Under Section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940

PURSUANT to section 5 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby authorises the Board of Trustees of the under-mentioned savings banks (being savings banks established under the Trustee Savings Banks Act 1948) to receive investments by way of deposits in investment accounts under the said Act during the investment period commencing on the 1st day of July 1980 and ending on the 30th day of June 1981:

Auckland Savings Bank;
Taranaki Savings Bank;
Otago Savings Bank; and
Southland Savings Bank.

Notice Under Section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940

PURSUANT to section 4 of the National Savings Act 1940, the Minister of Finance hereby prescribes as follows:

(a) The 41st investment period during which investments by way of deposits in investment accounts may be made shall be the period of 1 year commencing on the 1st day of July 1980 and ending on the 30th day of June 1981;

(b) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, the rate of interest to be paid on such investments made during such investment period shall be 3½ per cent per annum;

(c) Subject to the provisions of the said Act, moneys invested as aforesaid during such investment period shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1983, provided that where interest is not withdrawn by the investor in accordance with section 8 (2) of the said Act and is added to and becomes part of the principal moneys of the investor under section 8 (3) of the said Act, the amount of such interest together with any interest thereon shall be repayable on the 30th day of June 1982.

Discontinuance of Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical Services for the Residents of Tokanui and Surrounding Districts

PURSUANT to section 117 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Health, having considered that special arrangements for the provision of medical services for the residents of Tokanui and surrounding districts are no longer required, hereby declares that the special arrangements are discontinued and the Gazette notice described in the Schedule hereto is revoked.

Notice Respecting Proposed Alteration to Manawatu Drainage District

It is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General pursuant to section 3 of the Land Drainage Act 1908, praying that the boundaries of the Manawatu Drainage Board be altered by the inclusion of the areas described in the First, Second, and Third Schedules to this notice.

All persons affected who object to the proposed alteration are hereby called upon to lodge any objections thereto, in writing with the Minister of Local Government, Parliament Buildings, Wellington, within 1 month after the date of first publication of this notice.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ALL that land in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the south-western boundary, at Section 6, of Subdivision C, Manchester District (D.P. 43), with Taonui Road, and proceeding north-westerly along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Taonui Stream; thence generally south-westerly down the middle of that stream to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 15, Block XIV, Oroua Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the north-western side of Durie Road; thence north-easterly and north-westerly up the north-eastern and south-western sides of Durie Road to the south-eastern side of Aorangi Road; thence south-westerly along that roadside to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 9, Block XIV, Oroua Survey District; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the left bank of the Oroua River; thence generally north-easterly along the left bank of that river to the south-western side of Reids Line East; thence south-easterly along that roadside to the north-western side of Taonui Road; thence south-westerly along that roadside to the point of commencement.
