PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Commander E. D. Deane, LL.B., L.T., to be temp. Captain, with effect from 6 May 1980.
Commander (temp. Captain) I. L. S. B. Bradley, M.P.P., B.C.A., relinquishes the temp. rank of Captain, with effect from 6 May 1980.
The following to be Commander, with seniority and effect from the dates shown:

Geoffrey Vivian Lowther Broad, to be Chaplain (on prob.), with seniority from 1 February 1980, and effect from 1 May 1980, and is appointed to the RNZN.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
Lieutenant Commander P. H. J. Price, V.R.D., A.A.I.I., is transferred to the Inactive List of Officers, with effect from 18 April 1980.
The seniority of Sub Lieutenant (acting Lieutenant) B. C. Webster is post-dated to 22 March 1977.

of Wellington, formerly Chief Judge of the Arbitration Court, to be a temporary Judge of the Arbitration Court for a period of 3 months commencing on the 9th day of June 1980.
