Miscellaneous Government Notices




(a) Four members appointed by the New Zealand Freezing Companies Association (Incorporated);
(b) One member appointed by the Federation of Labour;
(c) One member appointed by the Auckland Freezing Work and Abattoir Employees Industrial Union of Workers;
(d) One member appointed by the New Zealand Meat Workers Processors, Packers, Preservers Freezing Works and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers;
(e) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Vocational Training Council;
(f) One member appointed by the Director-General of Education;
(g) Not more than two additional members to be co-opted by the board itself if and when it thinks fit.

  1. (1) The appointed members shall hold office for a period of 2 years, but may from time to time be reappointed.
    (2) Any co-opted member shall hold office during the pleasure of the Board for a period not exceeding 2 years, but may if eligible be reappointed.
    (3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Board or the Chairman or the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the meetings of the Board for three consecutive meetings, or while holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed, and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold office for the residue of the term of office of the member whom he replaces.
    (4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed member of the Board shall continue in office until his successor comes into office.
    (5) The powers of the Board shall not be affected by any vacancy in the membership thereof.

  2. (1) Deputy members may be appointed, in the same manner as appointed members, to be the deputy of a member and act in the event of the absence of the member from any meeting of the Board.
    (2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1) of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of the Board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient evidence of his authority to do so.

  3. This notice revokes the Meat Industry Training Board Notice 1974*.
