The Standards Act 1965—Standard Specifications Revoked

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 25 April 1980, revoked the under-mentioned standard specifications.

Number and Title for Specifications

NZS 1122:1964 (BS 1650:1963) Capacitors for connection to power-frequency systems.

NZS 1416:1958 (BS 2966:1958) Phenolic resin-bonded cotton fabric sheets for electrical purposes.

NZS 5408:1978 (ISO 1161:1976) Series 1 freight containers. Corner fittings.

PURSUANT to section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, the Standards Council, on 25 April 1980, amended the under-mentioned standard specifications by the incorporation of the amendments shown hereunder.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

DZ 6501 Units of measurement. (120pp) Price $6.

This draft is identical with ISO Standards Handbook 2. Any changes needed for New Zealand application will be incorporated and the publication published to supersede NZS 6501.

The Standards Act 1965—Draft New Zealand Standard Specification Available for Comment

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 23 of the Standards Act 1965, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.

Number and Title of Specification

DZ 5813 Underwater swimming equipment.

This draft specifies requirements for underwater swimming equipment, including self-contained underwater breathing apparatus which has been designed to be used with compressed air in cylinders carried by the wearer and not with gas mixtures or oxygen.

It is also intended as a guide for underwater swimmers. It contains recommendations on the equipment and procedures used in diving. It deals with selection, handling, use, maintenance and storage of equipment to ensure efficient operation when in use.

It is a revision of NZS 2190 and NZS 2232.

All persons who may be affected by this publication and who desire to comment thereon, may obtain copies at the price shown, from the Standards Association of New Zealand, World Trade Center, 15-23 Sturdee Street (or Private Bag), Wellington.
