guidelines are available on request from the Commission's
office. Information is required on individual companies's
operations, product ranges, etc.; the industry's structure and
problems; the potential for development over the next 10
years, inhibitions to the achievement of that potential, and
assistance required for each of the following activities:
(a) Manufacture of tugs (Tariff Heading 89.02);
(b) Manufacture of light vessels, dredges, etc. (Tariff
Heading 89.03);
(c) Manufacture of trawlers and other fishing vessels,
including factory ships, etc. (Tariff Heading 89.01);
(d) Manufacture of other ships and boats (Tariff Heading
89.01);
(e) Manufacture of floating structures including buoys and
beacons (Tariff Heading 89.05);
(f) Repairs to the above.
4. Any person who intends to make such submissions
should provide in typewritten form 7 copies of public sub-
missions which may, if necessary, be amplified by an accom-
panying confidential submission. These must reach the
Commission's office not later than 20 June 1980.
5. The Commission will then appraise the submissions
received and, not later than 18 July 1980, distribute a draft
report embodying the Commission's views on the present
situation and prospects of the industry under reference, any
policy considerations it sees desirable and the Commission's
proposed recommendations.
6. The Commission will release its draft report to all parties
who have submitted evidence in accordance with paragraph 4.
At that time it will invite parties to make further submissions
on the content of the draft report by 11 August 1980 and
will advise the procedure to be followed in the circulation
of these submissions.
7. A public hearing will be held on the Commission's
draft report and subsequent submissions in the Hearing
Room, Eighth Floor, Cumberland House, Upper Willis
Street, Wellington, on 26 August 1980, commencing at
10.30 a.m., and continuing on subsequent days as required.

Pursuant to section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the
New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives the
following notice.
NOTICE
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited
as the Fire Districts Boundaries (Otago) Notice 1980.
(2) This notice shall come into effect on the 1st day of
June 1980. - Fire District Boundaries—The boundaries of the follow-
ing Fire Districts have been altered and shall henceforth
be as defined in the Schedules hereto:
(a) the Middlemarch Fire District being all that area
described in the First Schedule hereto;
(b) the Alexandra Fire District being all that area described
in the Second Schedule hereto;
(c) the Clyde Fire District being all that area described in
the Third Schedule hereto;
(d) the Cromwell Fire District being all that area described
in the Fourth Schedule hereto;
(e) the Millers Flat Fire District being that area described
in the Fifth Schedule hereto;
(f) the Omakau Fire District being all that area described
in the Sixth Schedule hereto;
(g) the Roxburgh Fire District being all that area described
in the Seventh Schedule hereto;
(h) the Balclutha Fire District being all that area described
in the Eighth Schedule hereto;
(i) the Clinton Fire District being all that area described
in the Ninth Schedule hereto;
(j) the Kaitangata Fire District being all that area described
in the Tenth Schedule hereto;
(k) the Milton Fire District being all that area described
in the Eleventh Schedule hereto;
(l) the Owaka Fire District being all that area described
in the Twelfth Schedule hereto;
(m) the Kurov Fire District being all that area described
in the Thirteenth Schedule hereto;
(n) the Omarama Fire District being all that area described
in the Fourteenth Schedule hereto;
(o) the Otematata Fire District being all that area described
in the Fifteenth Schedule hereto;
(p) the Lawrence Fire District being all that area described
in the Sixteenth Schedule hereto;
(q) the Oamaru Fire District being all that area described
in the Seventeenth Schedule hereto;
(r) the Palmerston Fire District being all that area described
in the Eighteenth Schedule hereto;
(s) the Waikouaiti Fire District being all that area described
in the Nineteenth Schedule hereto;
(t) the Arrowtown Fire District being all that area described
in the Twentieth Schedule hereto;
(u) the Ranfurly Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-first Schedule hereto;
(v) the Naseby Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-second Schedule hereto;
(w) the Wanaka Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-third Schedule hereto;
(x) the Lake Hawea Fire District being all that area
described in the Twenty-fourth Schedule hereto;
(y) the Luggate Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-fifth Schedule hereto;
(z) the Dunedin Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-sixth Schedule hereto; and
(aa) the Duntroon Fire District being all that area described
in the Twenty-seventh Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE
MIDDLEmarch FIRE DISTRICT
ALL that area within the Otago Land District, Silverpeaks
County, containing 9000 hectares, more or less, bounded by a
line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 20,
Block X, Strath Taieri Survey District, and proceeding
southerly along the eastern boundary of that section to its
intersection with the southern boundary of Block X, Strath
Taieri Survey District; thence westerly along that block
boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block XII,
Strath Taieri Survey District; thence southerly along the
eastern boundaries of Section 3 aforesaid, Section 13, Section
5, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
north-eastern corner of Section 8, Block XII, Strath Taieri
Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary
of that section to its intersection with the southern boundary
of Strath Taieri Survey District; thence westerly along that
Survey District boundary and the production of the last-
mentioned boundary to the left bank of the Taieri River;
thence generally southerly along that bank to a point in line
with the southernmost boundary of Section 23, Block XV,
Sutton Survey District; thence westerly to and along that
boundary and the production of the last-mentioned boundary
to the western side of Chester Street; thence westerly along
the southern boundary of Block XV, Sutton Survey District
to the western corner of that block; thence northerly along
the western boundary of Block XV, Sutton Survey District,
to the southern side of Kidds Road; thence westerly along
that roadside to its intersection with the western side of
Gladbrook Road; thence generally northerly along that road-
side and the western side of Top Road to the north-eastern-
most corner of Section 4, Block VIII, Strath Taieri Survey
District; thence easterly along the northern side of Top
Road to the western boundary of section 10, Block IX, Strath
Taieri Survey District; thence north-easterly and easterly along
the north-western and northern boundaries of Section 10 to
the north-western side of McKinnon Road; thence generally
north-easterly along that roadside and the north-western and
northern sides of Wandle Road to a point in line with the
north-eastern side of O'Connel Road Block II, Strath Taieri
Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that
roadside and its production to the south-eastern side of the
Otago Central Railway; thence south-easterly along the north-
eastern side of the Otago Central Railway; thence south-
easterly along the north-eastern side of O'Connel Road and
its production to the south-eastern side of Hartfield Road
Block VI, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence south-westerly
along that roadside to the westernmost corner of Section 26,
Block X, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence south-easterly
along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 22, 23, 24,
21 and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the
southern side of Moonlight Road; thence generally westerly
along that roadside to the point of commencement.
