State Forest Land Set Apart as a Dedicated Area—Punaruku
Archaeological Area Notice 1979—Auckland Conservancy

Pursuant to section 15 of the Forests Act 1949 (as inserted
by section 2 of the Forests Amendment Act 1973, and
amended by section 5 of the Forests Amendment Act 1976),
the Minister of Forests hereby gives notice that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart and
dedicated for the purposes of protection, maintenance, and
management of trees and other plants, and for the protection
of native wildlife consistent with the proper use and manage-
ment of State forest land. The State forest land so dedicated
shall be known as the Punaruku Archaeological Area.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT—WHANGAREI COUNTY

794 square metres, more or less, being part Section 1, situated
in Block XVI, Russell Survey District (State forest—Gazette
1950, page 162). S.O. Plan 53827.

408 square metres, more or less, being part Section 1,
situated in Block XVI, Russell Survey District (State forest—
Gazette 1950, page 162). S.O. Plan 53828.

As shown on plan N16/13–14 deposited in the Head Office
of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

Notes:

  1. Camping or lighting of fires within the dedicated area is
    prohibited.
  2. No felling or removal of native trees or plants or
    disturbance of the soil is permitted except for scientific or
    forest or wildlife management purposes as approved by the
    Minister of Forests.

Change of Office Hours—District Court, Balclutha

Pursuant to rule 11 (2) of the District Court Rules 1948,
the Minister of Justice approved the office hours of the
District Court at Balclutha to be 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
and 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m., from Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Building Industry Training Board Notice 1980

Pursuant to section 15A of the Vocational Training Council
Act 1968, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following
notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Building Industry Training
    Board Notice 1980.

  2. (1) There shall be an industrial training board for the
    building industry which shall be known as the Building
    Industry Training Board and shall comprise the following
    members:

(a) Four members appointed by the New Zealand Master
Builders Federation (Inc.);

(b) One member appointed by the New Zealand Chapter
of the Australian Institute of Building;
(c) Two members appointed by the New Zealand Carpenters
and Related Trades Industrial Union of Workers;
(d) One member appointed by the New Zealand Labourers,
General Workers, and Related Trades Industrial
Union of Workers;
(e) One member appointed by the New Zealand Joinery
Manufacturers' Association (Inc.);
(f) One member appointed by the New Zealand Masonry
Trades Employers' Federation (Inc.);
(g) One member appointed by the Solid Plaster Contractors'
Federation of New Zealand;
(h) One member appointed by the Chief Executive Officer
of the Vocational Training Council;
(i) One member appointed by the Director-General of
Education.

(2) In addition to the members specified in subclause (1)
of this clause the Board may co-opt additional members.

  1. (1) Subject to the provisions of this clause the appointed
    members of the Board shall hold office for a period of 2
    years, but may from time to time be reappointed.
    (2) Any co-opted member shall hold office during the
    pleasure of the Board for a period not exceeding 2 years, but
    may be reappointed.
    (3) If any member dies, or resigns his office by writing
    under his hand addressed to the Board or the Chairman or
    the Secretary thereof, or is absent without leave from the
    meetings of the Board for three consecutive meetings, or while
    holding office becomes for any reason ineligible to remain
    a member, the casual vacancy so created shall be filled as
    soon as practicable thereafter by the appointment of a member
    in the manner in which the vacating member was appointed,
    and the member appointed to fill the vacancy shall hold
    office for the residue of the term of office of the member
    whom he replaces.
    (4) Unless he sooner vacates his office every appointed
    member of the Board shall continue in office until his successor
    comes into office.
    (5) The powers of the Board shall not be affected by any
    vacancy in the membership thereof.

  2. (1) A deputy member may be appointed in the same
    manner as an appointed member, to be the deputy of that
    member and act in the event of the absence of that member
    from any meeting of the Board.
    (2) While any person is acting pursuant to subclause (1)
    of this clause he shall be deemed to be a full member of
    the Board. The fact that any person so acts shall be sufficient
    evidence of his authority to do so.

  3. The Building Industry Training Board Notice 1974* is
    hereby revoked.

The Christchurch Polytechnic Notice 1980

Pursuant to section 69 of the Education Act 1964, the
Minister of Education gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice shall be cited as the Christchurch Poly-
    technic Notice 1980.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the date of its
    publication in the Gazette.

  2. There shall be a board of governors to be known as
    the Council of the Christchurch Polytechnic which shall con-
    trol the Christchurch Polytechnic.

  3. The Council of the Christchurch Polytechnic shall be
    constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Christchurch City
Council;
(b) One member appointed by the Canterbury branch of
the New Zealand Institute of Architects;
(c) One member appointed by the Canterbury branch of
the New Zealand Institution of Engineers;
(d) Four members elected by the association of employees
in local industries;
(e) Four members elected by the associations of employers
in local industries;
(f) One member appointed by the Council of the University
of Canterbury;
(g) One member appointed by the Canterbury Chamber of
Commerce;
