the said Charter it is provided that the majority of the corporate
members present in person or by proxy and voting at a general
meeting of the Institute specially called for the purpose of which
due notice has been given shall have power from time to time to
make such bylaws as shall seem requisite and convenient for the
regulation, government, and advantage of the Institute its members
and property and for the furtherance of its objects and purposes,
and from time to time to revoke, alter, or amend any bylaw or
bylaws previously made but so that the same be not repugnant to
the Charter or to the laws and Statutes of Australia and the
Dominion of New Zealand or any State or Territory thereof:
And whereas it is further provided by clause 15 of the said Charter
that no such bylaws, revocation, alteration, or amendment shall
take effect until approved by the Governors-General-in-Council
of Australia and the Dominion of New Zealand: And whereas
certain bylaws were made in accordance with the provisions of
the said Charter on the 30th day of November 1956 and were
approved, as required by the Charter, on the 25th day of
September 1957: And whereas the said bylaws subsequently have
been amended from time to time in accordance with the provisions
of the said Charter and the amendments approved, as required
by the Charter: And whereas the said bylaws as so amended were
further amended in accordance with the provisions of the said
Charter by resolution of a general meeting of the Institute specially
called for the purpose of which due notice had been given and
held on the 25th day of July 1979:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council, hereby approves the said further amendments of the
bylaws of the Institute set out in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

Bylaw 30 is deleted and the following new bylaw inserted in
lieu thereof:

“30: Entrance fees and annual subscriptions shall be payable
as follows:

Overtime and Shift Work Recognition Authority

PURSUANT to section 45 (10) of the Income Tax Act 1976,
the Minister of Finance hereby appoints

Mr Harold G. Duncan of Northland, Wellington,
to the position of Overtime and Shift Work Recognition
Authority for a period of 3 years.

Members of Queen Elizabeth Park Board Appointed

PURSUANT to the Reserves Act 1977 and the Reserves and
Other Lands Disposal Act 1934 (as amended by section 2
of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act 1975) the
Minister of Lands hereby appoints

John Newton Porter,
Edward Leo Gibbs, and
Edward Joseph Lynskey

to be members of the Queen Elizabeth Park Board, having
control and management of the Queen Elizabeth Park for
a term expiring 31 December 1980.

the nomination of the Federated Farmers of New Zealand
Inc.)

to be a member of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Council
for a term of 3 years, from 1 April 1980.

the nomination of the South Island Pest Destruction Board’s
Association)

to be a member of the Agricultural Pests Destruction Council
for a further term of 3 years, from 1 April 1980.

Revocation of Appointment or Approval to Issue Warrants
of Fitness

PURSUANT to regulation 84 (1) (b) of the Traffic Regulations
1976*, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes, as from
the 31st day of March 1980, all appointments or approvals
to issue warrants of fitness for motor vehicles (other than
appointments or approvals issued to Departments of State
and Government and to Officers of the Crown), heretofore
made or given, as the case may be, in terms of the said
regulations of any person or from whose place of examination
for the purpose of issue of warrants of fitness is situated
within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

THE whole of the area situated within the Chatham Islands.
