PURSUANT to Section 2 of the Transport Act 1962, the Secretary for Transport hereby declares that the three-wheeled vehicles having motorcycle controls and described in the Schedule hereto, are motorcycles for the purposes of the said Act.

PURSUANT to section 6 (3) of the Meat Act 1964 (as inserted by section 4 of the Meat Amendment Act 1976), notice No. 12* exempting the Tokomaru Riding of the Waiapu County from the requirement to be an inspected meat area is hereby revoked.

Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Wairarapa Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wairarapa Licensing Committee, on 7 November 1980, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Empire Hotel, Featherston.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public, the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock in the morning of New Year’s Day.

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Nelson Licensing Committee on 3 December 1980, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Jet Set Bar, Sportsman Bar, Hop Garden Bar, of the D.B. Rutherford Hotel.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

On any Friday, Saturday (not being Christmas Eve, or New Years Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

Commerce Act 1975

By letter dated 17 December 1979, the Minister of Trade and Industry required the Commerce Commission, pursuant to section 82 (7) of the Act, to inquire into and report to him on the advisability of removing from the Positive List of Controlled Goods and Services the following items, described briefly as, building boards, ceramic tableware, bread, colour television receivers, motor vehicles, and fruit.

By letter dated 25 March 1980 a similar reference was made to the Commission by the Minister in respect of the advisability of removing butter from the Positive List of Controlled Goods and Services.

All the inquiries have now been concluded and the Commission has reported its findings and recommendations on each item to the Minister.
