This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, as if, in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928, to use water for the purpose of generating electricity, as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968, to generate electricity by the use of water.

The generation of electricity by the use of water, pursuant to this consent, shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

This consent is granted subject to the compliance by the Fiordland National Park Board with the requirements of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967.

This consent shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1981, and shall continue in force for a period of 21 years from that date unless sooner lawfully determined.

The station shall be operated to supply the normal electricity demand of the hostel operated by the Fiordland National Park Board at Deep Cove in the Fiordland National Park.

For the purpose of assessing in accordance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the scheme shall be assessed at 45 kW.
SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
The Deep Cove Hostel hydro-electric scheme utilises water diverted from a lake fed stream by means of a pipeline to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to and will generate electricity by means of the following works:
(a) Headworks consisting of a weir and intake giving a hydraulic head of approximately 104 metres, situated in a stream in the Fiordland National Park at map reference S148.280114 on Lands and Survey N.Z. Topographical 1:63,360 (1 inch to 1 miles) series N.Z.M.S. 1.
(b) An intake flume complete with flood deflecting wall, overflow, screen and stone trap leads to the 200 mm diameter pipeline which follows the stream path to the powerhouse.
(c) Water turbines, generators, and all necessary hydraulic and electrical equipment for generating electricity, having a maximum capacity of 45 kW, housed in a powerhouse situated about map reference S148.282118.
(d) A tailrace leading from the powerhouse aforesaid to Deep Cove.
All as indicated on the plan marked N.Z.E. 1009, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

Consent to the Generation of Electricity by the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand at Milford Sound by the Use of Water
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby consents to the generation of electricity by the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand by the use of water, subject to the following conditions:
CONDITIONS

The conditions directed by the Water Power Regulations 1934, to be implied in every licence to use water for the purpose of generating or storing electricity, shall be deemed to be conditions of this consent as if it were such a licence.

This consent is subject to compliance with the Water Power Regulations 1934, the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations hereafter made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations, as if in the case of the Water Power Regulations 1934 it were a licence under the Public Works Act 1928 to use water for the purpose of generating electricity as well as a consent under the Electricity Act 1968 to generate electricity by the use of water.

The generation of electricity by the use of water pursuant to this consent shall be carried out by means of the works described in the Schedule hereto.

This consent shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 2001.

This consent confers no rights to water under the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967 or otherwise.

For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this consent, the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the date of this consent is 440 kW.
SCHEDULE
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
(a) Headworks consisting of a dam, intake, and pipeline leading to the powerhouse giving a static head of 237.74 metres.
(b) Pelton wheel and power house with all necessary equipment for generating electricity.
(c) Tail race leading from the power house to the sea at Fresh Water Basin.
As shown on the plan marked N.Z.E. 995, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

Authorising the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand to Erect and Use Electric Lines at Milford Sound
PURSUANT to the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Energy hereby licences the Tourist Hotel Corporation of New Zealand, subject to the following conditions, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.
CONDITIONS

This licence is subject to compliance with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and all regulations made in amendment of or in substitution for any of those regulations.

The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (d), and (f) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, and shall be an alternating current system.

This licence shall, unless it is sooner lawfully determined, continue in force until the 31st day of March 2001.
SCHEDULE
- Electric lines leading from the power house to supply wharf installations, the hotel complex, a flight service station, and a fishermen’s amenities building.
All being situated in Milford Sound Survey District, in Fiordland National Park, as shown in red on the plan marked N.Z.E. 995, deposited in the office of the Electricity Division of the Ministry of Energy at Wellington.

Racing Act 1971—Circumstances in Which Minimum Dividend Scheme Will Not Apply
PURSUANT to sections 44A and 98A of the Racing Act 1971 (as inserted by the Racing Amendment Act 1980), the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby notifies for public information that the requirement on totalisator clubs and the Totalisator Agency Board to pay out by way of dividend, an amount not less than the amount invested in respect of any bet on which a dividend is payable, shall not apply in respect of place betting on any race when an amount equal to 60 percent or more of the gross investments in the place pool is invested on any one of the horses or greyhounds filling a dividend-earning place in the race.
