Suspension of the Provisions of the Tramways Act 1908, in Respect of an Extension to the Tramway at Western Springs Operated by the Museum of Transport and Technology (Incorporated)

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS the Governor-General in Council, by Proclamation gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette, 27 July 1967, No. 47, p. 1264, suspended the operation of (a) the Tramways Act 1908 and all amendments thereof with the exception of the Tramways Amendment Act 1913, and (b) the Tram-drivers Regulations 1947, in respect of the tramway situated at Western Springs, Auckland, operated by the Museum of Transport and Technology (Incorporated);

And whereas the Museum of Transport and Technology (Incorporated) is constructing an extension to the said tramway to eventually terminate at the Sir Keith Park Memorial Airfield;

Now therefore pursuant to section 6 of the Tramways Amendment Act 1913, I, The Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, do hereby suspend the operation of (a) the Tramways Act 1908 and all amendments thereof with the exception of the Tramways Amendment Act 1913, and (b) the Tram-drivers Regulations 1947, in respect of an extension to the above-mentioned tramway such extension being from the Museum of Transport and Technology (Incorporated) along Great North Road and Motions Road to the Sir Keith Park Memorial Airfield, provided that the Tramway Carriage Regulations 1979 and all amendments thereof shall continue in full force and effect as though the Tramways Act 1908 had not been suspended.

Land Taken for a Works Yard in the City of Christchurch

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, the Honourable Sir David Stuart Beattie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a works yard and shall vest in the Christchurch City Council as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 11th day of December 1980.

SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land containing 387 square metres, situated in the City of Christchurch, being Lot 1, D.P. 8448. All certificate of title 397/67.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 4th day of December 1980.
