The Christchurch District Drainage Board (Remuneration and
Allowances) Notice 1980
Pursuant to section 20 (3) of the Christchurch District
Drainage Act 1951 (as enacted by section 2 (1) of the
Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act 1979), the
Minister of Local Government, acting with the concurrence
of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives the following
notice.
NOTICE
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited
as the Christchurch District Drainage Board (Remuneration
and Allowances) Notice 1980.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 17th day of
October 1980.
- Annual allowance to Chairman and Deputy Chairman—
(1) The Board may pay—
(a) To the Chairman of the Board, an annual allowance
at a rate not exceeding $4,750:
(b) To the Deputy Chairman of the Board, an annual
allowance at a rate not exceeding $475.
(2) The allowance payable under subclause (1) (b) of this
clause shall be payable in addition to any remuneration to
which the Deputy Chairman may be entitled under clause 3
of this notice.
- Remuneration of Chairmen of Standing Committees—
(1) Subject to section 19 (2) of the Christchurch District
Drainage Act 1951 and to clause 5 of this notice, the Board
may pay to the Chairman of any Standing Committee—
(a) In respect of each day on which he attends, as chair-
man, a meeting of a committee of the Board or of
a subcommittee of any such committee, remunera-
tion at a rate not exceeding $26 per day; and
(b) In respect of each day on which he attends a meeting
of the Board or on which he attends (in a capacity
other than that of chairman) a meeting of any
committee of the Board or of any subcommittee
of such a committee, remuneration at a rate not
exceeding $22 per day.
(2) No remuneration under this clause shall be paid to the
Chairman of the Board.

Remuneration of other members of Board—Subject to
clause 5 of this notice, the Board may pay to any member
of the Board (other than a member who is entitled to
an annual allowance or other remuneration under clause 2
or clause 3 of this notice), remuneration in respect of each
day on which he attends a meeting of the Board or of a com-
mittee of the Board or of any subcommittee of such a
committee, either in his capacity as a member of that com-
mittee or subcommittee, or as a person required to attend
that meeting in his capacity as a member of the Board,
remuneration at a rate not exceeding $22 per day. -
Modification of daily attendance rates—(1) Remuneration
which is payable under clause 3 or clause 4 of this notice
may be paid by the Board to any Chairman of a Standing
Committee or to any other member of the Board only once
in respect of any one day of 24 hours beginning at midnight,
irrespective of the number of meetings attended by that
Chairman or member on that day.
(2) Where a meeting is adjourned to a subsequent day or
days, remuneration which is payable under clause 3 or clause
4 of this notice may be paid in respect of each day on which
the meeting is held.
(3) A meeting which commences before midnight on any
day and continues past midnight shall be deemed to have
concluded before midnight for the purposes of payment of
remuneration which is payable under clause 3 or clause 4
of this notice.
(4) A Chairman of a Standing Committee or other member
of the Board who is paid remuneration under clause 3 or
clause 4 of this notice in respect of each day on which he
attends a meeting (whether of the Board or of any com-
mittee of the Board or of any subcommittee of such a
committee) shall not be paid in respect of more than 52
days in any one year.
- Revocation—The Christchurch District Drainage Board
(Remuneration and Allowances) Notice 1979* is hereby
revoked.

Manukau City Boundary Alteration Notice 1980
Pursuant to section 50 (2) (b) of the Local Government
Act 1974, the Minister of Local Government hereby gives
the following notice.
NOTICE
-
This notice may be cited as the Manukau City Boundary
Alteration Notice 1980 (No. 1). -
The boundaries of the City of Manukau are hereby
altered by including in the district of the City of Manukau
the area described in the Schedule hereto, being land re-
claimed from the sea at Pakuranga.
SCHEDULE
North Auckland Land District—Manukau City
3810 square metres, more or less, being Allotment 400,
Pakuranga Parish, situated in Blocks II and III, Otahuhu
Survey District. Shown marked "A" on S.O. 52042.

Notice of Receipt of Application for an Amendment to an
International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to section 14 of the International Air Services
Licensing Act 1947, notice is hereby given that Qantas Airways
of Sydney, the designated airline of the Government of the
Commonwealth of Australia, have applied for an amendment
to their International Air Service Licence to operate air
services for the carriage of passengers, cargo, and mail between
Christchurch, New Zealand, and Hobart, Australia. Further
details of the proposal may be obtained from the Secretary
for Transport, Ministry of Transport, Private Bag, Wellington.
Any person or organisation desiring to make representations
relating to this application, must forward these representations
in writing, to reach me on or before 7 November 1980.
