National Roads Board—Notice Partially Revoking Declaration of State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

Referring to State Highway No. 2, Opotiki to Waioeka Gorge section, as more particularly shown on sheets 1 to 5 of plan LA31/3/1 and accompanying Schedule, held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Gisborne, and there available for public inspection; it is notified that the National Roads Board by resolution dated 17 September 1980, and pursuant to subsection 5 of section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby revokes its resolution dated 26 August 1975*, made pursuant to the said section 4 insofar as it affects that part of the limited access road declaration for half its width on the eastern side commencing at the point of junction of the southern boundary of part Allotments 58 and 59, Waioeka Parish S.O. 2814L (certificate of title 2C/1151) and the State Highway and extending northwards for 220 metres.

National Roads Board—Notice Partially Revoking Declaration of State Highway to be a Limited Access Road

Referring to State Highway No. 57A, Palmerston North City Boundary to Forest Hill Road section, as more particularly shown on sheets 1 to 3 of plan M.O.W. 14738 and accompanying Schedule, held in the office of the Resident Engineer, Ministry of Works and Development, Palmerston North, and there available for public inspection; it is notified that the National Roads Board by resolution dated 17 September 1980, and pursuant to subsection 5 of section 4 of the Public Works Amendment Act 1963, hereby revokes its resolution dated 16 October 1968*, made pursuant to the said section 4 insofar as it affects that part of the limited access road declaration for half its width on the northern side across the whole frontage of Lot 1, D.P. 4945 (certificate of title 440/129).

Commerce Act 1975

  1. Notice is hereby given that the Commerce Commission has received, on 26 September 1980, a report from the Examiner of Commercial Practices relating to the proposed takeover by Fletcher Holdings Ltd. of Carter Holt Holdings Ltd. In his report the Examiner concludes with the following recommendation:

I recommend that the Commission make an order in terms of section 78 of the Act prohibiting the takeover of Carter Holt Holdings Ltd. by Fletcher Holdings Ltd.

I further recommend that the Commission make such orders or impose such requirements under section 78 which will have the effect of prohibiting the appointment to the board of directors of Carter Holt Holdings Ltd. of any person from the Fletcher group of companies, or of any nominee of the Fletcher group who is not acceptable to the board of Carter Holt Holdings Ltd.

The Commission will conduct an inquiry into this matter as required by section 76.

  1. On 11 and 14 June 1980 the Commission advertised calling for party applications to this proposed hearing. All applications received in response to this notice have been considered by the Commission. A list of the persons admitted as parties is available on request from the Executive Officer at the address at the foot of this notice. This list also shows the basis on which they have been admitted.

  2. The Commission will commence its inquiry into this matter starting at 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 18 November 1980, at the Industries Development Commission hearing room, Eighth Floor, Cumberland House, Willis Street, Wellington.

The Commerce Act 1975

Notice is hereby given:

(1) That the Commerce Commission has, pursuant to condition (ii) of decision No. 13, approved an increased scale of charges issued by the New Zealand Association of Shipping Agents Incorporated under collective pricing arrangement registration No. 330, dated 25 August 1972.

(2) That the Commerce Commission has, pursuant to condition (ii) of decision No. 30, approved a new scale of fees and charges issued by the New Zealand Woolbrokers Association under collective pricing agreement registration No. 5, dated 22 March, 1972.

The new scales of fees and charges approved by the Commission are available for inspection at the Commission's office, Sixth Floor, Chase-NBA House, 163 The Terrace, Wellington.
