Appointing an Inspector in Respect of the Railway at the Tinwald Domain, Ashburton, Operated by the Ashburton Railway and Preservation Society (Inc.)
PURSUANT to section 244 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works and Development hereby appoints
Donald Gordon Thomson of Ashburton, retired county engineer,
to be an inspector in respect of any railways at the Tinwald Domain, Ashburton, operated by the Ashburton Railway and Preservation Society (Inc.) to inspect all the said railways as occasion may from time to time require.

Nominated Member of the Arbitration Court Appointed
PURSUANT to sections 33 (1) (d) and 41 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973 (as substituted by section 3 of the Industrial Relations Amendment Act 1977), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice of the Minister of Labour, has been pleased to appoint.
James Alexander Boomer of Wellington, an acting nominated member of the Arbitration Court,
to be a nominated member of the Arbitration Court, in which capacity he shall, in accordance with section 43 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973 (as substituted by the said section 3), hold office for a term of 5 years from the 3rd day of September 1980.

Appointment of Honorary Community Officers Under the Maori Community Development Act 1962

Commissioner of High Court Appointed
PURSUANT to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Ronald Keith Davison, g.b.e., c.m.g., Chief Justice of New Zealand, has this day appointed
Ronald Anthony French of 38 Lydiard Street South, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria,
to be a Commissioner of the High Court of New Zealand in Victoria, for the purpose of administering and taking oaths, affidavits and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Declaring Land Taken for a Metal Pit in Block II, Makotuku Survey District, Waimarino County
PURSUANT to section 32 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works and Development hereby declares that, a sufficient agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a metal pit, and shall vest in the Waimarino County Council, from and after the 11th day of September 1980.
