STATE forest situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Inangahua Survey District, and Blocks III and IV, Reefton Survey District: area, 3025 hectares (part State forest by New Zealand Gazette, 1920, p. 2110, and Forest Amendment Act 1973, comprising 1080 hectares, shown as area A on S.O. Plan 12582; and part State forest by New Zealand Gazette, 1920, p. 2111, and Forest Amendment Act 1973, comprising 1945 hectares, shown as area B on S.O. Plan 12582).

As shown on plan S 31/8 deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

NOTES—Within the above areas no person shall:

  1. Light any fire except in places provided or properly constructed fireplaces, nor leave any such fire unattended.

  2. Take any vehicle or horse on to the area, except on formed roads.

  3. Introduce to the area any flora or fauna (especially domestic animals or stock) alien to the indigenous forest of the area.

  4. Enter with any firearm or poison or trap without first obtaining a permit from the Forest Service.

  5. Fell or remove timber, forest produce, native plants or fauna or disturb or remove any rock, soil or mineral except for scientific or forest management or other purposes approved by the Minister of Forests.

Notice of Marine Mammal for Display Purposes (Notice No. 2293, Ag. 9/6/16/1)

PURSUANT to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Minister of Fisheries advises that the Hawke’s Bay Marineland and Aquarium Board (Inc.) has applied for a permit to retain a leopard seal (Hydrurga leptonyx) for display purposes after treating the animal for injuries it had sustained, and hereby calls for any submissions regarding this application to be made in writing within 28 days of publication of this notice.

Notice to Capture Marine Mammals (No. 2292, Ag. 9/6/16/1)

PURSUANT to section 5 (5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Minister of Fisheries advises that the Hawke’s Bay Marineland has applied for a permit to capture six dolphins for display purposes and hereby calls for any submissions regarding this application to be made in writing within 28 days of publication of this notice.

Social Security Act 1964—Maternity Notice

PURSUANT to section 112 (4) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Health hereby gives notice that Svend Lynge Ottosen, Candidatus Medicinae et Chirurgiae, of 13 Millais Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland, has notified the Minister that he is unwilling to afford maternity services in relation to maternity benefits, on the terms provided for in section 112 of the Social Security Act 1964, and consequently he is entitled to recover any fees in respect of his professional services, as if that Act had not been passed.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Tauranga County) Notice No. 2, 1979.

  2. The road specified in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area pursuant to regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Tauranga County at Matapihi:

Matapihi Road: from a point 150 metres measured north-easterly generally along the said road from the Paeroa-Taneatua Railway Line crossing to a point 650 metres measured north-easterly generally along the said road from the Paeroa-Taneatua Railway Line crossing.

Observance of Hawke’s Bay Anniversary Day Holiday

By tradition and custom, the establishment of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, on 1 November 1858, has been commemorated by a public holiday on a date agreed upon by the inhabitants of the district.

To meet the wishes of the inhabitants of the district, the anniversary day holiday shall be observed on 24 October 1980, and thereafter on the Friday before Labour Day in each succeeding year in the City of Napier, the City of Hastings, the Borough of Havelock North, the County of Hawke’s Bay, the District of Waipawa, and the District of Waipukurau.
