Vesting of Reclaimed Land in the City of Manukau: Otara Creek

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 15th day of October 1979.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. B. E. TALBOYS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 175p of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby vests in the City of Manukau the land described in the Schedule hereto, which land was authorised for reclamation by Order in Council on 5 October 1970*, such land to be vested pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977 as a recreation reserve.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of reclaimed land in Otara Creek, situated in Block VI, Otahuhu Survey District, containing 1.0450 hectares, as more particularly shown edged green on plan S.O. 33719 (M.D. 15950) and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

Revocation of Part of Reclamation Authority Which Authorised the Manukau City Council to Reclaim Crown Land at Otara Creek, Tamaki River

THE RIGHT HON. B. E. TALBOYS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 175 (4) of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby amends the Order in Council of 5 October 1970* authorising the Manukau City Council to reclaim from Otara Creek an area of 3.38925 hectares (8 acres 1 rood 20 perches), more or less, as shown edged red on plan M.D. 13633, by revoking the authority to reclaim that area of land amounting to 2.3440 hectares as more particularly shown edged green on plan numbered M.D. 15949. The said plans M.D. 13633 and M.D. 15949 are deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Wellington.

Marlborough North Rural Fire District Order 1979

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Forests and Rural Fires Act 1977, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Marlborough North Rural Fire District Order 1979.

(2) This order shall come into force on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. In this order, unless the context otherwise requires the “Act” means the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, “District” means the Marlborough North Rural Fire District.

PART I—CONSTITUTION OF THE MARLBOROUGH NORTH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT

  1. The area specified in the Schedule to this order is hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Marlborough North Rural Fire District.

  2. The trees and other plants on the land, described in the Schedule to this order, are hereby specified as the property for the protection for which the district is constituted.

  3. The period between the 1st day of October in any 1 year and the 30th day of September in the following year (both days inclusive) is hereby declared to be a restricted fire season in the district.

  4. The Marlborough North Rural Fire District shall be administered for the purposes of the said Act by a committee consisting of nine members representing the New Zealand Forest Service, Marlborough County Council, Marlborough Forest Owners Association, Federated Farmers of New Zealand (this representative shall have territorial interests in the Marlborough North Rural Fire District), New Zealand Fire Services Commission, Marlborough Catchment Board, and a member of the Residents and Ratepayers Associations within the Marlborough North Rural Fire District.

SCHEDULE

NELSON CONSERVANCY—MARLBOROUGH COUNTY
MARLBOROUGH NORTH RURAL FIRE DISTRICT

ALL that area of Marlborough County bounded by the western boundary of the Marlborough County commencing at its junction with the sea at Oananga Bay, thence in a southerly direction along the county boundary to the Marlborough-Nelson Land District boundary; thence in a southwesterly direction along the Marlborough-Nelson Land District boundary to the Wairau River, thence in a north-easterly direction along the left bank of the Wairau River to its junction with the sea coast at the Thomas Road overflow and including all islands adjoining this section of sea coast.

As shown on plan S. 27/13, deposited in the Head Office of the New Zealand Forest Service at Wellington.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Commodore Derek John Cheney is placed on the Retired List of RNZN Officers, with effect from 12 August 1979.

Captain E. R. Ellison, O.B.E., to be acting Commodore, with effect from 13 August 1979, and Commodore, with seniority from 15 August 1978 and effect from 15 August 1979.

Lieutenant D. J. Davidson to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 1 September 1979.

Lieutenant (acting Lieutenant Commander) D. J. Williams to be temp. Lieutenant Commander, with effect from 25 June 1979.

The appointment of Lieutenant (on prob.) R. D. Foley is confirmed, with seniority from 24 July 1974 and effect from 24 August 1979.

The appointment of Lieutenant M. N. Franklin, B.A., is extended to 5 January 1989.

Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) R. D. Muir, B.E.(ELECT.), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 20 August 1977 and effect from 7 August 1979.

The appointments of the following are extended to the dates shown:

Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) J. R. McIdrum, 25 February 1996.

Sub Lieutenant S. J. Tollenaar, 17 January 1994.
