A PROCLAMATION
Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 26th day of July 1979.

Pursuant to section 11 of the Housing Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby orders and declares that the access way described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, vest in and be under the control and management of the Waimairi County Council.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
Pursuant to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency, the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Commander L. J. Tempero to be temp. Captain, with effect from 24 May 1979, and Captain with seniority and effect from 1 June 1979.
Commander E. S. Eide to be acting Captain, with effect from 18 June 1979.
Lieutenant Commander (acting Commander) William Stewart Watson, O.B.E., C.ENG., F.I.MAR.E., M.N.Z.I.E., is placed on the RNZN Retired List of Officers in the rank of Commander, with effect from 13 June 1979.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 42, 17 May 1979, p. 1530, relating to the retirement of Lieutenant Commander Keith Ivor Knight, for “O.B.E.” substitute “M.B.E.”.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander D. A. Swann is extended to 24 February 1985.
Lieutenant P. A. Cozens to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 1 December 1978 and effect from 23 May 1979.
Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) B. C. Petley to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 16 June 1979.
The appointment of Instructor Lieutenant (on prob.) D. J. Turner, B.SC., is confirmed, with effect from 9 April 1979.

EMERGENCY LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
Surgeon Lieutenant Commander A. J. Newson, M.B., CH.B., F.F.A.R.C.S.(ENG.), D.A., R.C.P.(LOND.) and R.C.S.(ENG.), F.F.A.R.A.C.S., is transferred to the Inactive List of the RNZNVR in the rank of Surgeon Lieutenant Commander, with seniority from 1 June 1978 and effect from 1 June 1979.
