Notice of Intention to Vary Hours of Sale of Liquor at Licensed Premises—Wellington Licensing Committee

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wellington Licensing Committee on 20 June 1979 made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Hutt Park Hotel.

To the intent that on days other than those on which licensed premises are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to the general public the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wellington Licensing Committee, on 20 June 1979, made an order authorising variations of the usual hours of trading for the chartered club known as the Wellington South Branch (Wellington R.S.A.) Club.

To the intent that on days other than those on which chartered clubs are required to be closed for the sale of liquor to their members the hours for the opening and closing of the said premises shall be as follows:

(a) On any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (not being New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 10 o’clock in the evening.

(b) On any Friday and Saturday (not being New Year’s Eve)—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

(b) On any Friday and Saturday (not being New Year’s Eve) and on Christmas Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 11 o’clock in the evening.

(c) On any New Year’s Eve—Opening at 11 o’clock in the morning and closing at 00.30 o’clock on the morning of New Year’s Day.

PURSUANT to section 221A of the Sale of Liquor Act 1962, as amended by section 22 (14) of the Sale of Liquor Amendment Act 1976, I, John Fraser Robertson, Secretary for Justice, hereby give notice that the Wellington Licensing Committee on 20 June 1979 revoked an order made on 16 February 1977 varying the usual hours of trading for the licensed premises known as the Kings Cross Hotel, Lower Hutt.

Hours of Attendance—Magistrate’s Court—Otaki

PURSUANT to Rule 11 (2) of the Magistrate’s Court Rules 1948, the Minister of Justice has approved of the hours of attendance at the Magistrate’s Court at Otaki being on a Monday and a Thursday in each week on and from 9 July 1979.

Sitting Days—Magistrate’s Court—Levin

PURSUANT to section 22 (1) of the Magistrate’s Court Act 1947, the Minister of Justice has approved that the sitting days for the Magistrate’s Court at Levin be held fortnightly on 2 consecutive days and 3 consecutive days each alternate fortnight.

Approval of Flashing Amber Light on Taxicabs

PURSUANT to regulation 67 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby approves the fitting of one flashing amber light on any taxicab subject to the following conditions:

  1. The light shall be fitted on the roof of the taxicab, and

  2. The light shall only be used while the motor vehicle is being operated as a taxicab and the driver is in distress.
