Approval of Revolving Amber Lights for Certain Vehicles
PURSUANT to subclause (8) of regulation 67 of the Traffic
Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby
approves the fitting of one or two revolving or flashing amber
lights on Automobile Association patrol vehicles. This
approval is subject to the following conditions:

The vehicle is painted a conspicuous colour.
-
The lights are only used while the vehicle is stationary
and unable to avoid creating a hazard in the performance
of its duties. -
The lights are placed in such a position on the vehicle
so as to obtain maximum visibility while the vehicle is causing
a traffic hazard. -
Unless traffic is under the control of a police officer or
traffic officer, adequate warning signs shall be erected as soon
as practicable in advance of any hazard indicated by revolving
or flashing amber lights.

Approval of Motor Cycle Safety Helmets in terms of Traffic
Regulations 1976
PURSUANT to subclause (1) of regulation 88 of the Traffic
Regulations 1976*, the Secretary for Transport hereby
approves, for the purpose of regulation 31 of the said regula-
tions, motor-cycle safety helmets of the make and type
described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
SAFETY helmets manufactured by Stadium Ltd., England,
bearing the model name “Achilles” and the certification
marking of the British Standards Institution, BS 2495, and
the licence number 5976.

Notice of Approval of Amendments to Bylaws
PURSUANT to sections 8A and 165 of the Harbours Act 1950,
I, Alexander King Ewing, of the Ministry of Transport,
hereby approve the schedule of the charges of the Rodney Council
Reserves, Public Places, Foreshores, and Waters Bylaw*
passed and adopted at meetings of the said Council on 1 May
1978 and 25 May 1978, and the amendment to come into force
from 1 April 1979.

Consenting to Raising of Loans by Certain Local Authorities
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
undersigned Assistant Secretary to the Treasury, acting under
powers delegated to the Secretary to the Treasury by the

IN terms of section 25 (2) of the Reserve Bank of New
Zealand Act 1964, the Reserve Bank today released outer
limits for rates of exchange to be used in transactions involving
the conversion of New Zealand currency into foreign curren-
cies and foreign currencies into New Zealand currency when
delivery of the foreign currency dealt in will be effected by
