Karamu High School Board of Governors Notice 1979

PURSUANT to section 54 (2) of the Education Act 1964, the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Karamu High School Board of Governors Notice 1979.

  2. On and after the 1st day of August 1979 the Hastings High Schools’ Board of Governors shall cease to exercise control over Karamu High School, and the sole control of that school shall be vested in a board of governors which shall be known as the Karamu High School Board of Governors and be constituted as follows:

(a) One member appointed by the Hawke’s Bay Education Board;

(b) One member elected by the teachers at the school;

(c) Seven members elected by the parents of the pupils attending the school;

(d) Two members to be co-opted by the board of governors itself, if and when it thinks fit.

  1. Clause 2 of the Hastings High Schools’ Board of Governors Notice 1977* is hereby consequentially varied by omitting the words “, Hastings Girls’ High School, and Karamu High School”, and substituting the words “and Hastings Girls’ High School”.

Amending Notice to the Open Season for Game in the Otago Acclimatisation District

THE Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice that the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 14, of 22 February 1979, at p. 387, relating to the open season for game in certain acclimatisation districts in the South Island is hereby amended as follows:

In that portion of the Second Schedule which relates to the Otago Acclimatisation District, by adding the following:

Game That May be Hunted or Killed Duration of 1979-80 Season

Canada goose 21 April to 28 October 1979 incl. and midnight 1 February 1980 to 23 March 1980 at midnight incl.

Daily Bag Limits

Canada goose, no limit.

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. except that during the period 18 June 1979 to 28 October 1979 inclusive, and midnight 1 February 1980 to 23 March 1980 at midnight inclusive, Canada goose may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day.

Approval to Hunt or Kill Game during an Open Season for Game Where Food has Been Cast, Thrown, Placed, or Planted

PURSUANT to section 17 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs approves persons to hunt or kill game of the species listed in the First Schedule hereto, during an open season for game in the acclimatisation district named in the Second Schedule hereto, where food has been cast, thrown, placed, or planted during the 1979-80 open season for game or during the period thirty (30) days immediately preceding the 1979-80 open season for game, and subject to the conditions specified in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Grey, shoveler (or spoonbill), mallard and paradise duck, black swan, and Canada goose.

SECOND SCHEDULE

Otago Acclimatisation District.


THIRD SCHEDULE

Conditions

  1. The conditions specified in the 1979-80 game season notification for the South Island apply.

  2. This approval will expire at the end of the duration of the open season for game specified in the notification referred to in 1 immediately above.

Price Order No. 121 (Butter)

PURSUANT to the Commerce Act 1975, I, Desmond James Gasson, pursuant to a delegation from the Secretary of Trade and Industry, hereby make the following price order:

PRELIMINARY

  1. This order may be cited as Price Order No. 121, and shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1979.

  2. (1) Special Approval No. C894* is hereby revoked.

(2) The revocation of the said special approval shall not affect the liability of any person for any offence in relation thereto committed before the coming into force of this order.

(3) Notwithstanding the revocation of Special Approval No. C894, any approvals given under clause 13 of that special approval or any approvals deemed by clause 3 of that special approval to continue to have effect shall continue to have effect as if the said special approval had not been revoked.

  1. (1) In this order, unless the context otherwise requires,—

“the said Act” means the Commerce Act 1975; “the said regulations” mean the Butter and Cheese Marketing Regulations 1948*.

(2) Terms and expressions defined in the said Act, or in the said regulations, when used in this order, have the meanings severally assigned thereto by the said Act or by the said regulations, as the case may be.

  1. The grades referred to in this order shall, as the case requires, mean:

(a) Grades assigned at a grading store; or

(b) Grades assigned in a manufacturing dairy as prescribed by regulation 26 of the said regulations; or

(c) Grades constructively assigned pursuant to subclause (4) of regulation 26 of the said regulations.

APPLICATION OF THIS ORDER

  1. This order applies with respect to all sales in New Zealand by way of wholesale, or retail, of any butter (within the meaning of the said regulations) manufactured in New Zealand, except butter sold as ships’ stores for vessels sailing beyond New Zealand.

MAXIMUM PRICES FOR SALES OF BUTTER BY WAY OF WHOLESALE, OR BY A MANUFACTURER TO A WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTOR, TO WHICH THIS ORDER APPLIES

  1. Subject to the provisions of this order, the several maximum prices at which butter prepared in 500 gram packs or smaller portions may be sold by way of sale by wholesale shall be the following:

(a) In the case of salted creamery butter the standard of quality of which is not lower than First Grade, the price of 59.09c a 500 gram pack or 31.82c a 250 gram pack.

(b) In the case of salted creamery butter, the standard of quality of which is Second Grade, the price of 58.96c a 500 gram pack.

(c) In the case of whey butter the standard of quality of which is not lower than Second Grade, the price of 56.36c a 500 gram pack.

  1. The price of butter sold in bulk by way of wholesale, being butter of one of the kinds and standards of quality set out in clause 6 of this order, shall be 0.228 of a cent for each kilogram less than the respective price prescribed for butter of that kind and standard of quality by the said clause 6 hereof.
