A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land, subject to the Land Act 1948.

Adjusting the Boundaries of the Otago Catchment District and the Waitaki Catchment Area

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 19th day of February 1979.

THE RIGHT HON. R. D. MULDOON PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Otago Catchment District and included in the Waitaki Catchment Area.

SCHEDULE
ALL that area in the Otago Land District described in Gazette notice, dated 24 March 1948, at p. 329, and commencing on the sea coast at the south-eastern corner of Block I, Waikawa Survey District, and bounded by the original Gazette notice and amending area notice to and north-easterly along a road leading to the northern boundary of Pukeuri settlement to a point on that road due west of the north-west corner of part Section 5S, Pukeuri settlement, thence by the following amending boundary (as described from N.Z.M.S. 177, sheets S 127 2nd edition, S 136 2nd edition, S 137 1st edition, and associated survey plans) due east from the aforesaid point on the road by a right line to the north-west corner of part Section 5S, thence in a south-easterly direction by a right line across the aforesaid section to a point on the southern boundary of part Section 5S 32 chains (663.74 m) from the south-east corner of the aforesaid section, thence easterly along the southern boundary of the aforementioned section to the south-east corner thereof, thence south by the eastern boundary of the Awamoko S.D. to a point opposite the most northerly point on the boundary of Airedale settlement, thence due east across a road to the most northerly point on the boundary of Airedale settlement, thence, generally, easterly and southerly by the northerly and easterly boundaries of Airedale settlement to the north-west corner of Section 1S Rosebery settlement, Block I, Papakaio S.D., thence, generally, easterly by the northern boundaries of Section 1S and Section 2S to the intersection of the boundary of the last named section with Schuller Road, thence, generally, easterly and southerly by the northerly and north-easterly boundaries of Schuller Road to the intersection of this boundary with the north boundary of Block 2, Papakaio S.D., thence in a south-easterly direction by a right line across Section 98, Rosebery settlement, to the north-west corner of Section 66, Block 2, Papakaio S.D., thence due south by the eastern boundary of Section 98 to the south-east corner thereof, thence due cast by the northern boundaries of Sections 73 and 74, Block 2, Papakaio S.D., to the north-east corner of Section 74, thence, generally, in a south-easterly direction by the eastern and north-easterly boundaries of Sections 74, 75, 115, part 116, and D.P. 2452, to the south-east corner of D.P. 2452, thence in a south-easterly direction across S.H. 83 to the most southerly corner of Lot 2, D.P. 11712, thence again in an easterly direction by a right line across S.H. 1 to the intersection of the south-eastern boundary of S.H. 1 with the south-western boundary of works road, thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of Works road to the north-western corner of Section 142, Block 2, Papakaio S.D., thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 142, 145, and 146, in the aforesaid Block and S.D. to a point on the last named section boundary being the intersection of that boundary with the south-western boundary of an easement as shown on S.O. 8644, thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of the aforesaid easement to the coast, thence south-westerly along the coast to the point of commencement.

The Urewera National Park Board Lake Waikaremoana Waters Control Order 1979

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 5th day of March 1979.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. B. E. TALBOYS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to section 8A of the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (a) This order may be cited as the Urewera National Park Board Lake Waikaremoana Waters Control Order 1979.
    (b) This order shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette.

  2. In this order:
    “The Act” means the Harbours Act 1950;
    “The Board” means the Urewera National Park Board;
    “Minister” means the Minister of Transport and includes any officer, person or authority acting by or under the direction or authority of the Minister.

  3. There is hereby granted to the board for a period of 21 years from the commencement of this order, the control of waters described in the First Schedule to this order, subject to the provisions of section 8A of the Act, and to the conditions specified in the Second Schedule to this order.

FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL the waters of Lake Waikaremoana situated in the Gisborne land district and containing 5210 hectares, more or less, and being all that land comprised and described in a freehold order of the Maori Land Court, dated the 6th day of June 1918, and registered in the provisional register, volume 1B, folio 861, Gisborne Registry.
