A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road and shall vest in the Waipa County Council as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 5th day of October 1978.

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL those pieces of land situated in Block XIII, Maungatautari Survey District, described as follows:

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government House at Wellington this 24th day of July 1978.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Agricultural Pests Destruction Act 1967, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:

ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Pests of Local Importance Order 1978, No. 1.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after its notification in the Gazette.

  2. The rook is hereby declared a Pest of Local Importance in the East Otago Pest Destruction District.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY

Captain Gerald Arthur Lawrence is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 24 August 1978.

Commander J. O'H. Tobin to be acting Captain, with effect from 26 July 1978, temp. Captain, with effect from 3 August 1978, and Captain, with seniority and effect from 23 August 1978.

Commander Simon Counsell Stephens is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 3 September 1978.

The appointment of Lieutenant Commander D. Reid is extended to 5 May 1984.

Lieutenant Commander Michael Fredric Piper is transferred to the Reserve of Naval Officers until 4 September 1980, with effect from 5 September 1978.

Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant Commander) J. E. Tustin to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 17 June 1978, and his appointment is extended to 14 June 1984.

Lieutenant John Edgar Greenwood is re-appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant, with adjusted seniority from 27 February 1972 and effect from 31 July 1978, terminating on 19 July 1991.

The appointment of Lieutenant (W) Sally Kay Wootton is terminated, with effect from 2 September 1978.

Sub Lieutenant (temp. Lieutenant) R. A. Marriott, B.E. (ELECT.), to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 16 January 1975, and effect from 2 August 1978.

The seniorities, as Sub Lieutenants, of the following, are ante-dated to the dates shown, with effect from 11 August 1978.
