In the matter of a Private Bill intituled “An Act to amend the Homewood Trust Act 1942”:
Take notice that the Homewood Trust Board, constituted by the Homewood Trust Act 1942, intends to apply for leave to introduce to the House of Representatives a Bill to amend the above-mentioned Act with the object of extending the scope and purposes of the Deed of Trust contained in the said Act to permit the board to pay the capital and income of the trust estate for general charitable purposes.
The promoter is the Homewood Trust Board whose address for communications and notices is care of Cooney Lees & Morgan, Solicitors, 87 First Avenue, Tauranga, at which address a copy of the Bill may be inspected.

Printed without textual alteration, the work provides an important basis for any study of old-time Maori economics and perhaps more importantly of his attitude to what was a major part of his environment. It will be of more general interest today than when first written, since it stresses so fully that causes made by the Maori people of their natural resources, and supplies basic material for further studies in ethnobotany and ethnozoology. The reverence which the old time Maori showed towards natural resources mirrors the modern concern for ecological principles.

Chapter 1 reviews recent events in the world energy market.
Chapter 2 considers the development of New Zealand’s present pattern of energy production and consumption. The need for conservation of energy, and the means by which changes in consumption methods can achieve this are discussed in Chapter 3.
Chapter 4 is an examination of New Zealand’s energy resources, their present use and their potential.
Chapter 5 goes on to consider the alternative sources which New Zealand could turn to, particularly the renewable resources.
Goals and guidelines for the country’s energy strategy are proposed in Chapter 6.
Chapter 7 looks at each of the guidelines, within the framework of New Zealand’s present situation.
