PURSUANT to subsection (7) of section 63 of the Industrial Relations Act 1973 as amended by section 6 (2) of the Industrial Relations Amendment Act (No. 2) 1976, I, Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint

as a Conciliator in a temporary capacity to hold office and have all the powers and jurisdiction of a conciliator from
28 August 1978 to a date to be determined which shall not be later than 22 December 1978.

Appointments, Promotions, Extensions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Defence Act 1971, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, extensions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Naval Forces.
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
The appointment of Chaplain P. Cronin, Q.H.C. is extended to 15 September 1982.
Lieutenant Commander D. E. C. Barratt, M.B.E.: with reference to the notice published in the Gazette, 16 February 1978, No. 10, p. 304, for the name “David Edward Barratt” substitute “David Erskine Charles Barratt”.
The appointments of the following Lieutenant Commanders are extended to the dates shown:
J. W. Jennings, M.B.E., 13 August 1982.
C. F. Bryant, 3 July 1980.
C. P. C. Calkin, 10 January 1983.
Lieutenant J. S. C. Clark to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 16 July 1978.
Lieutenant K. J. Robertson to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 1 August 1978.
Lieutenant A. F. Prendergast to be Lieutenant Commander, with seniority and effect from 20 July 1978.
Lieutenant R. G. G. Sanson to be temp. Lieutenant Commander, with effect from 28 April 1978.
Lieutenant Alan Rodney Danson is transferred to the Reserve of Naval Officers until 16 June 1982, with effect from 17 June 1978.
Captain Norman Arthur Falconer Young, B.SC., DIP.TCHG., R.N.Z.A.E.C., is transferred to the RNZN on a fixed term engagement in the rank of Lieutenant SL (SP) (on prob.) with seniority from 17 December 1972 and effect from 24 July 1978, terminating on 23 July 1983.
Roger Deane Foley is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant (on prob.), with seniority from 24 July 1974 and effect from 24 July 1978, terminating on 23 July 1983.
Colin Quincey, M.B.E., is appointed to the RNZN in the rank of Lieutenant with seniority from 6 June 1975 and effect from 6 June 1978, on a fixed term engagement terminating 5 June 1983.
Sub Lieutenant (W) C. M. Beentjes to be Lieutenant (W), with seniority and effect from 1 July 1978.
The appointment of Sub Lieutenant Bernard James Healy is terminated, with effect from 6 July 1978.
Sub Lieutenant D. V. Anson to be Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 18 July 1978.
Sub Lieutenant T. M. Bollard to be Lieutenant, with seniority and effect from 18 July 1978.

ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVAL VOLUNTEER RESERVE
The appointment of Surgeon Lieutenant Commander N. C. McGill, V.R.D., M.R.C.S.(ENG.), L.R.C.P.(LOND.), is extended to 14 October 1979.
The appointment of Lieutenant Commander G. R. Gibson, V.R.D., A.C.A., is extended to 17 January 1982.
Peter Desmond Swain, Q719917, is reappointed to the RNZNVR List I in the rank of Sub Lieutenant (S) (temp. Lieutenant), with seniority from 12 June 1976 and effect from 12 June 1978, terminating on 24 October 1987.
EMERGENCY LIST OF THE ROYAL NEW ZEALAND NAVY
The period of service of Sub Lieutenant Jeremy John Amcs Payne on the Emergency List of the RNZN is terminated, with effect from 29 June 1978.
RESERVE OF NAVAL OFFICERS
Commander Ian Scott Monro, O.B.E., M.N.Z.I.S., is placed on the Retired List, with effect from 24 October 1977.
