Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1978—Lake County Council
PURSUANT to the Motor Launch Regulations 1962*, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport hereby give the following notice—
- (a) This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1978.
(b) This notice shall come into force on the date of its publication in the Gazette, and shall remain in force until revoked by further notice in the Gazette.

Subject to the condition set forth in the Third Schedule hereto, Regulations 11 and 12 of the Motor Launch Regulations 1962, shall not apply with respect to the area described in the First Schedule hereto.

The area described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be an access lane.

Notice is hereby given that the Motor Launch (Lake Wakatipu) Notice 1974—Lake County Council, is hereby revoked.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that area of Lake Wakatipu at Kingston within 200 metres of the water’s edge bounded to the south-east by a line at right angles to the water’s edge at mean lake level commencing at a position at that level in line with the west side of the north end of Cambridge Street, and bounded to the north-west by a similar line being an extension of the north-west boundary of Lot 11, Section 5, Block 1, Kingston Survey District.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that area of water extending out into Lake Wakatipu at Kingston and bounded on the sides by parallel lines 121 metres apart, the north-west boundary being contiguous to south-east boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and the south-east commencing at a point on the water’s edge at mean lake level at a position at that level in line with the west side of the north end of Oxford Street.
THIRD SCHEDULE
- No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour within the area described in the First Schedule hereto when
(a) within one hundred feet of any vessel; or
(b) within one hundred feet of any person in the water, or bathing, or fishing.

The area of water described in the First Schedule hereto shall be shown cross-hatched on a plan of the lake on a scale not less than 100 m to 25.4 mm which shall be displayed on the lower portion of a notice board measuring not less than 800 mm by 600 mm painted bright orange with black lettering, which notice board shall be erected at each place where boats are normally launched and on the lakeshore at the north-west boundary of the area.

The upper and middle portion of the aforesaid notice board shall contain the following notice:

There is no speed restriction for motor launches and waterskiers using the area shown cross hatched on the plan below, subject to the following conditions:
No person shall propel or navigate a powered vessel at a proper speed greater than 5 miles per hour when—
(a) within one hundred feet of any vessel; or
(b) within one hundred feet of any person in the water, or bathing, or fishing.

Two 0.5 m transit posts with a distance of not less than 3 m or more than 6 m between and painted with 300 mm bright orange and black bands shall be erected on land in line with each side of access lane, the first post being sited on the lake margin at normal lake level.

On each side of the transit posts sited on the lake margin at normal lake level there shall be fastened in line with the side of the access lane a notice board measuring not less than 800 mm by 600 mm painted bright orange with black lettering in the following form:

Access lane through which motor launches and waterskiers may pass at speeds greater than 5 miles per hour.
BATHERS KEEP OUT

Three marker buoys of resilient plastic either barrel, drum or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with vertical black stripes, shall be moored 50 metres apart and in line with the notice board erected on the lakeshore of the north-west boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and in line with each set of transit posts, the first buoy being 50 metres from the water’s edge.

Marker buoys of a resilient plastic either barrel, drum or spherical shaped, painted bright orange with vertical black stripes shall be moored 200 metres from the lake margin at normal lake level and in line with the notice boards erected on the lakeshore of the north-west boundary of the area described in the First Schedule to this notice and in line with each set of transit posts.

Licensing the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd. to occupy a site for a pipeline on the Ohinemuri River, Thames
PURSUANT to section 162 of the Harbours Act 1950, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby license and permit the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Co. Ltd. (hereinafter called the licensee, which term shall include its successors or assigns unless the context requires a different construction) to use and occupy a part of the bed of the Ohinemuri River as shown on plan marked M.D. (N) 373 and deposited in the office of the Ministry of Transport at Auckland, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a pipeline crossing as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
CONDITIONS

This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1960, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

The term of the licence shall be 14 years from the 1st day of September 1977.

The premium payable by the licensee shall be forty dollars ($40) and the annual sum so payable by the licensee shall be thirty-six dollars ($36); provided always that the Minister may review the annual sum payable at the end of the first year or any subsequent year of the said term.

Revoking the Foreshore Licence Authorising Mission Point Campers Association (Incorporated) to Occupy a Site for a Boat Ramp at Waitetoko, Lake Taupo
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, I, Owen John Conway, of the Ministry of Transport, in exercise of powers delegated by the Minister of Transport, hereby give notice that the licence of 30 November 1973* authorising Mission Point Campers Association (Incorporated) to use and occupy a part of the bed of Lake Taupo at Waitetoko as a site for a boat ramp is hereby revoked.

Boundaries of Silverpeaks County and of its Hawkesbury, Kaikorai, and Otokia Ridings Defined
PURSUANT to section 16 of the Counties Act 1956, the Deputy Secretary for Local Government hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of Silverpeaks County following the formation of that County by the union of Waikouaiti and Taieri Counties, by Order in Council made on 27 June 1977, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 71, 30 June 1977, p. 1807; and the boundaries of the Hawkesbury, Kaikorai and Otokia Ridings of that County.
