Amending Notice to the Open Season for Game in the Central North Island Wildlife Conservancy

The Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives notice that the notice published in the supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, No. 13, of 18 February 1975, at p. 307, relating to the open season for game in certain acclimatisation districts is hereby amended as follows:

In that portion of the Third Schedule which relates to the Rotorua Acclimatisation District (now the Central North Island Wildlife Conservancy):

(a) By deleting the following:
No. (33). The paddock known as Barley Flat of approximately 60 acres, more or less, the property of Puhatikotiko Partnership, Puha.
No. (34). Murupara Borough Council Oxidation Ponds. All that piece of land containing 24 acres 3 roods 4 perches, more or less, being part of the Whirinaki Number 1 Section, 2A Block, situated in Block XIII, of the Galatea S.D., in the County of Whakatane, being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 86, folio 149, South Auckland Registry, and shown as coloured yellow, on Survey Office Plan No. 43395.

(b) And by substituting the following:
No. (30). Murupara Borough Council Oxidation Ponds. All that piece of land containing 10.0261 hectares, more or less, being part of the Whirinaki Number 1 Section, 2A Block, situated in Block XIII, of the Galatea S.D., in the County of Whakatane, being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Volume 86, folio 149, South Auckland Registry, and shown as coloured yellow, on Survey Office Plan No. 43395.

Open Season for Game in a Described Area of the Firth of Thames for the 1978 Game Season

Pursuant to the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs declares an open season for game, in that area of the Firth of Thames hereinafter named the Firth of Thames Open Game Area, and being that area that is enclosed between the boundary of the Auckland Acclimatisation District and a line connecting the points on that boundary by passing through Orere Point on the west side of the Firth, and the southern headland of Fantail Bay on the Coromandel Peninsula, subject to the conditions specified in the Second Schedule hereto.

The attention of sportsmen and others is drawn to the daily game possession limits set forth in the First Schedule hereto and to the provisions of the Wildlife Act 1953 and the Wildlife Regulations 1955.


FIRST SCHEDULE

DAILY GAME POSSESSION LIMIT

Except where all game is labelled with the following details:
(a) The name and address of the person by whom the game was taken;
(b) The number of the licence to hunt or kill game held by the person by whom the game was taken;
(c) The name of the acclimatisation society by which that licence was issued; and
(d) The date on which the game was taken.

No person shall have in his possession on any one day game in excess of the following numbers:

Saturday, 6 May 1978: A number of game corresponding to the number specified in this notification as the daily bag limit.

Sunday, 7 May 1978: Twice the number of game specified for Saturday, 6 May 1978.

Every subsequent day: As for Saturday, 6 May 1978.

Daily Bag Limits

Grey duck, 10. Pukeko, 6.

Grey, shoveler (or spoonbill), and mallard duck, 10 in all.

Shooting hours: 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
Decoy limit: No limit.


THIRD SCHEDULE

Subject to the conditions prescribed in this notice and to the Wildlife Act 1953, and Wildlife Regulations 1955, any person holding a licence to hunt or kill game in all acclimatisation districts of the North Island of New Zealand for the 1978 season may hunt or kill game in the Firth of Thames Open Game Area.

The Traffic (Kaitaia Borough) Notice No. 1, 1978

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1962, the Minister of Transport hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Kaitaia Borough) Notice No. 1, 1978.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule hereto are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The road specified in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be a 70 kilometres an hour speed limit area for the purposes of regulation 21 of the Traffic Regulations 1976*.

  4. The Traffic (Kaitaia Borough) Notice No. 1, 1974†, dated the 30th day of April 1974†, under section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956, which relates to roads situated within Kaitaia Borough, is hereby revoked.


FIRST SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Kaitaia Borough:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 100 metres measured northerly, generally, along the said State highway from Donalds Road to the northern boundary of Kaitaia Borough.

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 200 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Hester Street to the eastern boundary of Kaitaia Borough.

Kaitaia-Motukaraka Road: from the south-western boundary of Kaitaia Borough to 160 metres south of Pukepoto Road.


SECOND SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Kaitaia Borough:

No. 1 State Highway (Awanui-Bluff): from a point 200 metres measured westerly, generally, along the said State highway from Hester Street to the eastern boundary of Kaitaia Borough.
