A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for road, and shall vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Taumarunui as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 27th day of April 1978.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

ALL those pieces of land described as follows:

Area

3136 m² } Parts Section 9, situated in Block VII, Kaitieke
8.0481 ha } Survey District; coloured orange on plan.
804 m² Part Section 3, situated in Block III, Kaitieke
Survey District; coloured blue on plan.

As shown on plan S.O. 25652, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above-mentioned.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 11th day of April 1978.

Revoking Portion of a Proclamation Taking Land for Works, Appliances and Conveniences Necessary, Directly or Indirectly, for the Generation of Electricity in the Borough of Cromwell and the County of Vincent

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the proclamation dated the 27th day of October 1976, and published in Gazette, 4 November 1976, No. 113, at p. 2489, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Dunedin, as No. 468825, taking land for works, appliances, and conveniences necessary, directly or indirectly, for the generation of electricity in the Borough of Cromwell and the County of Vincent, in so far as it affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT

ALL that piece of land situated in the Town of Cromwell, containing 4047 square metres, being Section 1, Block XCII. All certificate of title, No. 6A/737.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 6th day of April 1978.

The Waipawa District and Waipawa Community Constitution Order 1978, Amendment No. 1

ORDER IN COUNCIL

At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 24th day of April 1978

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. B. E. TALBOYS PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to the Local Government Act 1974, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

ORDER

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This order may be cited as the Waipawa District and Waipawa Community Constitution Order 1978, Amendment No. 1, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Waipawa District and Waipawa Community Constitution Order 1978* (hereinafter referred to as the principal order).

(2) This order shall come into force on the 1st day of May 1978.

  1. Transitional members of district council—The principal order is hereby amended by revoking clause 6, and substituting the following clause:

“6. Notwithstanding the provisions of clause 5 of this order, until the members of the district council, to be elected at the next triennial general election of members of local authorities (to be held on the 2nd Saturday in October in the year 1980) come into office, the district council shall consist of 9 members of whom—

(a) Six shall be the persons who held office as Councillors of the County of Waipawa immediately before the commencement of this order; and

(b) Three shall be persons who hold office as Councillors of the Borough of Waipawa and who, before the commencement of this order, were elected as members of the district council by the Waipawa Borough Council.”

  1. Petroleum tax—Clause 19 of the principal order is hereby amended by omitting the words “the Local Authorities (Petroleum Tax) Act 1970”, and substituting the words “Part XI of the Local Government Act 1974 (as enacted by section 2 of the Local Government Amendment Act (No. 3) 1977)”.

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Water and Soil Conservation Act 1967, I, The Right Honourable Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby appoint

Royce Edwin Walter Elliott, an officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries;

Ronald Bruce Miller, an officer of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research;

Jack James Chesterman, an officer of the Ministry of Works and Development;

Robert Richard Louis Harcourt, an officer of the Department of Health;

Grant Stewart Ellis Milne, an officer of the Ministry of Transport;

Edward Michael Coulson Fowler, architect, of Wellington, to represent the Municipal Association of New Zealand Incorporated;

Robert Dugald McKenzie, farmer, of Invercargill, to represent the New Zealand Catchment Authorities Association Incorporated;

Ralph William Pile, farmer, of Palmerston, Otago, to represent the New Zealand Counties Association Incorporated;

Garry Michael Glazebrook, farmer, of Marackakaho, Hawke’s Bay, to represent Federated Farmers of New Zealand Incorporated;

Jack Longbourne Vickerman, civil engineer, of Tokoroa, to represent the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation Incorporated;

Reginald Graham Calvert, farmer, of Tuakau, to represent the New Zealand Dairy Board;

Maxwell Stuart Carrie, retired, of Christchurch, to represent the Meat Industry Research Institute of New Zealand Incorporated; and

Daniel Palmer O’Connor, farmer, of Otiake, Kurow, representing all recreational interests in natural water,

to be members of the Water Resources Council from and including the date of this appointment.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 11th day of April 1978.
