North Canterbury Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1978
PURSUANT to section 20 of the Electricity Act 1968, the Minister of Electricity licences the North Canterbury Electric Power Board to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines, and to construct and use electric works for the transmission and supply of electricity within the North Canterbury Electric Power Board area of supply as described in the Schedule hereto.
This licence is issued subject to the following conditions:
CONDITIONS

This licence may be cited as the North Canterbury Electric Power Board Electric Lines Licence 1978.

The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence, except insofar as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1976, the Radio Interference Regulations 1958, and with all regulations made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, except insofar as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (h), and (j) of regulation 15 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1976. The system of supply authorised under paragraph (i) aforesaid, shall be a single-conductor earth-return system of 11000 volts between conductor and earth, and the use thereof shall be subject to such terms and conditions as are from time to time laid down by the General-Manager of the New Zealand Electricity Department.

This licence shall be deemed to come into force on the 1st day of April 1978 and shall continue in force for a period of 21 years from that date unless it is sooner lawfully determined.

NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD LICENSED AREA OF SUPPLY
All that area, in the Canterbury, Marlborough, and Nelson land districts, bounded by a line commencing at the middle of the mouth of the Waimakariri River, Block IV, Christchurch Survey District, and proceeding north-westerly, generally, up the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 14216; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 17167, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the left (western) bank of the Styx River; thence southerly, generally, along that bank to a point in line with the northernmost corner of part Lot 3, D.P. 9363, comprised in C.T. 12F/259; thence westerly to and along the northern boundary of that part Lot and the generally northern boundary of Reserve 1835 to the eastern boundary of part Rural Section 18057, comprised in C.T. 539/16; thence southerly and westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of that section to the south-eastern boundary of part Reserve 1250; thence south-westerly along that boundary to a point in line with the southern boundary of part Lot 2, D.P. 11676, comprised in C.T. 11A/1025; thence westerly to and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the old bed of the Waimakariri River; thence westerly, generally, up the middle of that old bed to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Rural Section 37707, Block IV, Hawkins Survey District, being a point on the middle line of the Waimakariri River; thence north-westerly, generally, up the middle of that river to a point due west of Trig S, Black Hill, Block IX, Upper Ashley Survey District; thence due east to that trig station, being a point on the summit of the Pukeraki Range; thence north-easterly, generally, along the summit of that range to Trig M, Esk Head; thence north-westerly along the summit of the Dampier Range to the summit of the Main Divide; thence north-easterly, generally, along that summit, the summit of the Spenser Range, to Belvedere Peak, Block IX, Rainbow Survey District; thence north-easterly generally along the summit of the St Arnaud Range, passing through Mount McKay, Cotterell Peak, the Camel, Trig C, and St Arnaud, to and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 11, Block XIV, Motupiko Survey District, to the south-western boundary of Section 6, Square 34, Block XV, Motupiko Survey District; thence north-westerly, generally, along the south-western boundary of that section to the southern side of No. 63 State Highway; thence easterly along the southern side of that highway to the north-eastern boundary of part Section 3, Square 34, being a point on a right line between Trig Station Top 2 and Barefell Pass; thence south-easterly along that right line to Trig BOC (Barefell Pass), Block III, Severn Survey District; thence south-westerly, generally, to and along the middle of the Guide and Acheron Rivers to the confluence of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers, Block XIII, Acheron Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line aligned on Palmer Saddle to the middle of the Clarence River; thence north-easterly down the middle of that river to a point due west of Mount Ross; thence due east to the right bank of the Clarence River; thence north-easterly, generally, along that bank to its junction in Block IV, Kaitarau Survey District, with the left bank of Jam Stream; thence southerly, generally, along the said left bank to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Run 231 in Block III, Kaitarau Survey District; thence south-easterly along a right line to the said boundary, and along that boundary to Trig R, George Spur, in Block VII of the said district; thence south-easterly generally, along the north-eastern boundary of Section 31, Block XIII, Puhi Puhi Survey District; thence southerly and easterly along the western boundary of the said Section 31, and the western and southern boundaries of part Section 32, Block XIII, Puhi Puhi Survey District to the north-western boundary of part Section 3C, 2 of 2, Mangamaua Maori Block; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of the said part Section 3C 2 of 2, part Sections 3B of 2, 3A of 2, and 4A of 2, to the middle line of the Ohau Stream in Block XV, Kaitarau Survey District; thence southerly, generally, along the middle line of the said stream to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence south-westerly, generally, along the mean high-water mark of the sea to a point of commencement, excluding therefrom the licensed area of supply to the Kaiapoi Borough Council as defined in New Zealand Gazette, 1961, p. 531.
