Special Order Made by Waipa County Council Altering
Riding Boundaries
Pursuant to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the
Secretary for Local Government hereby publishes the fol-
lowing Special Order made by the Waipa County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the
Counties Act 1956, the Waipa County Council resolves by
way of Special Order as follows:
- The Newcastle and Hamilton Ridings shall be amalg-
mated into one riding to be named the "Newcastle
Riding", the boundaries of which are more particu-
larly described in the First Schedule hereto. - The Orakau Riding shall be subdivided into two new
ridings to be named the "Orakau Riding" and the
"Pukeatua Riding" the boundaries of which are
more particularly described in the Second and Third
Schedules respectively. - That this Special Order come into effect on the day of
the date this Special Order is gazetted in accordance
with the provisions of section 88 of the Counties
Act 1956.
I hereby certify that the above resolution by Special Order
was passed by the Waipa County Council, on the 16th day
of May 1977, and confirmed on the 18th day of July 1977,
public notice having been advertised in the Waikato Times
on 25 June and 6 July 1977.

FIRST SCHEDULE
Newcastle Riding
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Waipa
County, bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block
VII, Newcastle Survey District, in the middle of the Waipa
River in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment
109A, Suburbs of Newcastle South, and proceeding easterly
and south-easterly generally along the generally northern and
north-eastern boundaries of the Waipa County as described
in New Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 175, to and southerly
along the western boundary of the City of Hamilton, as
described in New Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 172, to the
north-western side of the public road forming the south-
eastern boundaries of part Lot 2, D.P. 13592, and Lots 3, 2,
and 1, D.P. S. 17531; thence south-westerly along that road-
side to and along the eastern and northern sides of the public
road forming the western boundary of the aforesaid Lot 1,
D.P. S. 17531, and the southern boundary of part Lot 2,
D.P. 32679; Lot 1, D.P. S. 20571; and Lot 1, D.P. S. 12807,
to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. S.
22669; thence southerly along a right line crossing the said
road to and along the eastern boundaries of the said Lot 1
and Lot 2, D.P. S. 22669, Allotment 85, Tuhikaramea Parish,
and Lot 4, D.P. S. 17855, to the northern side of a public
road; thence westerly along that roadside to the south-eastern
corner of Allotment 74, Tuhikaramea Parish, as shown on
D.P. 25860, and along a right line crossing a public road
and passing through Lots 2 and 1, D.P. S. 1734, and Lot 1,
D.P. 25860, to the northernmost corner of Allotment 41,
Tuhikaramea Parish, on the north-eastern boundary of Lot 3,
D.P. S. 15195; thence south-westerly along the north-western
boundary of the said allotment to the north-eastern side of the
public road forming the south-western boundary of Lot 1,
D.P. S. 15195, thence southerly along a right line across the
said road to the northernmost corner of Lot 7, D.P. S. 15187;
thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries
of that lot, a telegraph reserve by New Zealand Gazette, 1896,
page 26, and Lot 1, D.P. S. 15187, to the eastern side of
Tuhikaramea-Whatawhata Road; thence southerly along that
eastern side to the middle of Maisey Road; thence westerly
along the middle of that road and the middle of the road
forming the southern boundaries of Allotment 374D 2,
Tuhikaramea Parish; and that middle line produced to the
middle of the Waipa River, in Block VII, Alexandra Survey
District; thence generally northerly along the western boundary
of the Waipa County hereinbefore described to the point of
commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE
Orakau Riding
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, Waipa
County, bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of
the Puniu River and the Ruapaha Stream in Block VI, Puniu
Survey District, and proceeding generally north-easterly up
the middle of that stream to the generally southern boundary
of the Borough of Te Awamutu, as described in New Zealand
Gazette, 1965, page 173; thence generally north-easterly along
the said generally southern and the generally eastern boundaries
of that borough to the middle of the Mangahoi Stream; thence
generally south-easterly up the middle of that stream to the
middle of Monckton Road in Block IX, Maungatautari Survey
District; thence generally south-westerly along the middle of
Monckton Road, Kihikihi-Arapuni Road, Melsop Road,
Parawera-Wharepapa Road, and Adams Road to the middle
of the Puniu River; thence down the middle of the said
Puniu River to the point of commencement.
THIRD SCHEDULE
Pukeatua Riding
All that area in the South Auckland Land District, situated
in the Waipa County commencing at the intersection in Block
XVI, Maungatautari Survey District, of the middle of the
Puniu River with the middle of Adams Road and proceeding
generally north-easterly up the middle of the said Adams
Road, Parawera-Wharepapa Road, Melsop Road, Kihikihi-
Arapuni Road, and Monckton Road, to the middle of the
Mangahoi Stream; thence generally south-easterly up the
middle of that stream to a point in line with the eastern
boundary of Section 6, Block IX, Maungatautari Survey
District; thence generally northerly to and along the eastern
boundary of that section, the eastern boundary of Section 5
of the said Block IX, a right line across Te Reti Road to
and along the eastern boundaries of Sections 11, 5, and 3,
Block V, Maungatautari Survey District, and the southern
and eastern boundaries of part Lot 4, D.P. 12622, to its
easternmost corner; thence generally north-easterly along a
right line across Maru Road to and along the southern and
eastern boundaries of part Maungatautari 3A5A1 and the
eastern boundaries of Lot 1, D.P. S. 19374; part Lot 1, D.P.
S. 10003, and Maungatautari 3A5A8 to its intersection with
the boundary of the Waipa County as described in New
Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 175, in Block II, Maungatautari
Survey District; thence generally south-easterly and generally
north-westerly along the said county boundaries to the point
of commencement.

Special Order Made by Ohinemuri County Council Altering
Riding Boundaries
Pursuant to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the Secre-
tary for Local Government hereby publishes the following
Special Order made by the Ohinemuri County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23
of the Counties Act 1956, the Ohinemuri County Council
hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows:
- The present division of the County of Ohinemuri into six
ridings, namely, Mangaiti Riding, Komata Riding, Paeroa
Riding, Waihi West Riding, Waihi Riding, and Waihi Beach
Riding shall remain, and the boundaries of the several ridings
shall be as described in the Schedule hereto. - The boundaries of the Komata Riding as described in
the New Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 1266; the Paeroa Riding
as described in the New Zealand Gazette, 1965, page 1266;
the Waihi Riding as described in the New Zealand Gazette,
1965, page 1267, and the Waihi Beach Riding as described
in the New Zealand Gazette, 1956, page 1618, are hereby
revoked. - The said Ohinemuri County Council shall consist of nine
members who shall be elected as follows:
(1) The electors of Paeroa, Waihi West and Waihi
Ridings shall each elect two councillors.
